Hi @Luca.pirillo

There are only a few providers worldwide with eSIM and Dual SIM functionality enabled. There are none in Switzerland. Swisscom is technically ready to use eSIM. We see eSIM as a positive development for the mobile communications market.

  1. @YariB, I generally buy new Apple products. I was impatiently waiting for the iPhone X S Max. But I find the price of 512 Mb indecent.
  2. I’m going to give up now.

Great, Swisscom is ready but your answer doesn’t tell us if you will use it.

Concretely, will we be able to use the eSIM with Swisscom or not? And if so when?

Hi @clagir

Yes, the iPhone will also work with an eSIM. Unfortunately, we don’t know when yet. Hopefully, Apple will soon be able to enable this feature for Swisscom (as well as another Swiss provider).

Greetings, Miriam

Good morning,
How will we be informed when the ESIM on the iPhone xs is compatible with Swisscom.
Thank you in advance for your feedback. Good day

Hi @Raphy,

For Swisscom, I can’t tell you, but they said on Twitter that it would be ready soon…

On the other hand, for Apple, I can give you an answer, as I have a Developer account, you have to wait for the version of iOS 12.1, available this fall.

There I have it in Beta 2 and the eSim option is there:winking:

@Prelude: I think like you regarding technology and especially the dishonest prices charged at Apple. My iPhone 7 plus 256 GB at 1250.- is by far not worth the price compared to older Apple models. Crashes and freezes like Microsoft products, even worse, and battery life of a few hours, even in Airplane mode![:raging:](https://community.swisscom.ch/html/@697416C98FF73DB331755002BE572DD7/images/smilies/rage .png “:raging:”)! A total disappointment, never again Apple! The Swisscom advisor tried to get me to change brands with a lot of diplomacy and politeness during my purchase:winking: Today I understand this advisor’s arguments and explanations very well. I should have listened to it:tiresome: to have a more reliable and more reliable mobile efficient at ⅓ the price of an iPhone 7 with the addition of dual SIM!

Good morning,

In your case, I think your iPhone has a problem that would require repair. I had the same iPhone but the battery lasted about a day and I had no freezes or slowdowns.

You should call Apple and see what we can do.

Hello and thank you for your response and advice!

Other users report the same problems with blocking access to networks (cellular and Wifi) and autonomy, even after numerous OS updates.![](https://community.swisscom .ch/html/@5721A085178251D6C47937505562627F/images/smilies/sad.png “”) Each time you change the cellular or WiFi network you have to do a Reset so that the flow of cellular data is unblocked (!), so several times a day at the France-Switzerland crossings or change of professional WiFi networks![:sobbing:](https ://community.swisscom.ch/html/@2D6863076486DC3A311974EACB0209C6/images/smilies/sobbing.png “:sobbing:”). On the advice of Apple support, I did a Hard Reset with reinstallation of iOS to correct the battery problems. For a few days (no more!) the battery life seemed much better but only 2 weeks later you have to charge it again 2 to 4 times a day (GPS, Bluetooth always OFF) and deal with the Soft-Resets several times per day to have access to the networks!

This device even drains 60-80% in Airplane mode during the night! Unacceptable, I no longer have a guarantee and wasted enough time with this “jewel of technology”. Paying for a repair for a product that claims to be “High-end” but is full of defects that have not been mastered since its marketing, No Thank you!

Buy a new Apple product, still much more expensive and less efficient, in addition, with older technology than the Series 7? No Thanks either, I definitely no longer have “Pigeon-Apple” written on my forehead.![:winking:](https://community.swisscom.ch/html/@371E6B894055D81C5FEC7CB8590B7AEA/images/smilies/winking .png “:winking:”) … and the next time I purchase a mobile I will listen more carefully to the advisor’s pragmatic recommendations Swisscom:grin_smile:

Good day!
