Booster availability

  • I do not think it is right for Swisscom to advertise on their website a product that they cannot provide to most customers who meet the conditions that Swisscom sets to obtain it.

I take my case as an example:

    - abo Vivo M

    - max speed less than 50 Mbit/s (on average 44 Mbit/s)

    - 4G mobile base station less than 500m, in an urban environment

Answers obtained so far (from various and multiple sources): in summary: not available, not possible, or at best the technical conditions do not allow it, or too much mobile traffic.

The minimum on the part of Swisscom would be to play openly in the web page describing the booster solution by specifying that it is a technical solution in principle possible to increase the bit rate, but that unfortunately for technical (or other) questions it can only be attributed to a very limited number of customers.

In addition it would also be correct to specify what are the criteria for one customer to receive the booster and that it is refused to another while both meet the same conditions (even for example specify that it is first come - first served, or that the monthly bill must exceed a certain value would be better than the current radio silence).

    Hello,

there is a page that gives eligibility to this product here >

    [https://www.swisscom.ch/fr/clients-prives/internet-television-reseaufixe/internet/internet-booster.html](https://www.swisscom.ch/fr/clients-prives/internet- television-reseaufixe/internet/internet-booster.html)

You must fill in the various fields of your address and see.

    Greetings,

Very fair and that’s my problem. We correspond to the basic criteria set, we fill in the requested fields and… we receive information that we already know (the bit rate is too low which led us to request a booster….) but no clear answer on availability.

With, icing on the cake, the invitation to order the product. We click and we realize that we cannot order (no purple rectangle). Without further explanation.

If we don’t get discouraged and call the Call Center, it’s the cross and the banner. Polite, caring, sometimes even friendly, but still a hassle. It depends on the level of education and the “wooden language” skills of the interlocutor. Who can’t do anything about it anyway. He/she would like to help with this booster question, but cannot…

Question to the Imp VIP: did you receive a booster? if yes: what is your VDSL bit rate, how far from the mobile base do you live? is it in the city or in the countryside?

    Good morning,

Personally, I received the booster. The speed indicated in the checker is 12 mb. I live in a small town, not far from the mobile antenna.

Without boosting it, when I watch TV, I have 3-5 MB left for internet. With the booster, I get to 30 MB.

    Good day.

    @Prelude

    Good morning,

For my part, I had _for months and until 12/30/2018_ the famous booster and I was happy with it.

The speed never exceeds 40 Mb/s download and 15 upload, so I called support to ask if I could switch to inOne internet S instead of M without losing anything.
As the answer was affirmative we moved on to S….

The throughput dropped to 15 downl./2 upload and the booster was disabled.

I asked to go back to the initial configuration, but I cannot recover the booster:sobbing:
Be careful: if you do not use the booster (for a certain time which may be short or long) Swisscom can assign it to someone else on a waiting list…you can possibly wait years for it recover.:raging:

    Still a Happy New Year

    JPF
