The app has now been in operation for less than two years and as a Windows Phone user I will be left behind when this app disappears in March.

As a long-standing, good Swisscom customer, I don’t understand such actions.

The development costs for a minimal number of Windows Phone users are probably too high.

I understand it already.

Swisscom could also simply create a real UWP app. It works on Windows PCs, notebooks, tablets and smartphones. There are already a lot of users.

Seriously. The current TV app for Windows Phone is pretty bad, so it’s actually no loss.

Zattoo has a really great app. 😉

In contrast to Android and iOS, Win 10 Mobile’s market share is virtually meaningless. It’s a shame, I also had a Lumia and was quite happy with it, but Microsoft screwed it up. Why should Swisscom continue to develop an app for an absolute minority?

Show original language (German)

Market shares of mobile operating systems in Switzerland:

4% Windows

39% Android

56% iOS

Seen this way, Windows is really a minority. Of course, I understand Windows users that something like this is annoying, but you also have to recognize that the development and maintenance of such an app costs time and money. And one thing is particularly important for shareholders: Money

Oh dear, I just saw that too!!

I often watch TV on the go using the app and it works well so far.

A universal app would be a really good idea - you can also use it on your PC.

Well, on my Lmia 950XL tvair.swisscom.com works just fine.

But the browser seems to have problems with the Swisscom implementation.

The app ran better (just had occasional crashes).

What about XBOX One support?

The last few days TV Ait worked with XBOX ONe and Edg Browser.

But since yesterday it’s dead pants. You will be informed that you should download the app.

Globis.

but only for IOS and Android.

So I’m forced to boycot Swisscom’s entire TV range and become a defector from Zattoo 🙂

and once again Windowsphone users are left out. I had a few Lumias, all of them were top-of-the-line phones, but there was always a problem with the apps. I gave up and got a Sony Xperia X

Bought - with Android - the apps work wonderfully… I just find it mean that Windows phones are sold, the flagships are also quite expensive, but no provider wants to offer support in terms of apps because there is too little market share… So it’s your own fault , if you buy such a phome?

But we w10m users are still allowed to pay for the subscription for TV 2.0 at home, where TV air is actually included…. I’ll probably check with Swisscom whether a reduction in the price of the subscription is possible :-). And it seems to me that Swisscom is not able to write or have a universal app written. Or there would be a tool from Microsoft called Islandwood for converting iOS apps to Windows… but Swisscom has probably never heard of that…..

Upc Cablecom also has a nice app, both for PC and for W10M 😀

And? Do you want to watch SwisscomTV with it?

There is also an app from Wilmaa and Teleboy.

Show original language (German)

No, I don’t want to. Because that’s just saying that other providers apparently do more than Swisscom…
And yes, I also know the apps from wilmaa and zattoo and teleboy. But if I already have a Swisscom TV 2.0 subscription (at home), I would like to be on that. W10m can view my recordings…

No, but it is a consequence of the profit-maximizing market economy that minorities are shot down.

What a crap. This is pure market economy, inferior products on the market (or those that are perceived as such by consumers) are not shot down, they die out naturally. This has been the case since the market economy existed. A company does something because *_oh shame on all profit-oriented companies*_ it has to make a profit first, otherwise it won’t be on the market for long. Serving minorities (in this case probably “rare exotics”) is nice and desirable, but certainly not the first priority.

We can also talk about a uwp app here… I am of the opinion that these are no longer “rare exotics”.
Serving tens of thousands of users with just one app…that’s something, right?
