Harmony remote control Bluetooth support with Swisscom TV 2.0 UHD box

  • Recently my Logitech Harmony remote control and Smart Hub received a software update, and since then the remote control can also be connected to the Playstation 4 natively as a BT remote control.

I once again raise the question of whether there is hope that the Swisscom TV UHD box could also be supported natively via Bluetooth. It works via IR, but it’s not entirely satisfactory (my TV display interferes with the box’s IR reception during the warm-up phase, and otherwise the whole thing isn’t as “snappy” as it could be)

It worked like this for me:

My remote control: Harmony Elite with Harmony Hub

      Manufacturer: Swisscom

      Model Number: IP1200

Then there is a warning that you need a USB to infrared adapter. Just keep going.

My box then worked except for the volume control.

However, I discovered that the box only works within sight of the hub, which suggests that the whole thing works via infrared. I then opened the box and discovered that there was an IR receiver installed in the box. Actually you should drill a hole in the front where it is. But since the hub has an IR extender and it works without a hole, I didn’t use it.

By the way, I have the Wingo box, which is optically and technically identical except for the Swisscom logo stuck over it.

I have the swisscom TV Box 2.0 (black on top, without UHD) and I was happy to discover that my newly installed harmony ultimate (including hub) also works without an IR dongle - i.e. via bluethooth. However, with the following important restriction: There are no commands stored in the database for the volume (in contrast to the UHD box, where they exist).

Maybe the volume for the TV Box 2.0 will also be added.

Hello Contributor, how did you do that? I have the Harmony Companion with hub and the Swisscom TV2 (without UHD) box. It doesn’t work for me.

    I’m grateful for any advice

    Merci and greetings

    Hello @harry604

I set up the TV-Box under MyHarmony as normal (as device: Swisscom DVR; Swisscom IP-1200). A warning appears that an additional IR dongle is required. Nevertheless, it worked for me without a dongle (apart from the radio and volume functions, these commands are not available). So it just worked via Bluetooth without me having to adjust anything in the settings. That’s why I can’t really help you if it doesn’t work for you.

My only idea: Did you also choose Swisscom IP-1200 as the device?
