VoIP telephony and iMac application configuration

  • Good morning,

I would like to know my VoIP settings to configure my “Telephone” application on my iMac, so that I can make and receive my calls from my computer. After 45 minutes with the Swisscom service, it was impossible to find the right settings. Anyone know where to find them? In the InternetBox I found the settings to configure a phone, but not an application.

    I need the following information:

    Full name

    Domain

    User Name

    Password

    Nothing too bad…

    Thanks in advance

    • Good morning,

It is possible to configure a SIP account on the Telephone application. On the 64 characters website (follow this link), we find the following information:

      Swisscom
      www.swisscom.ch
      Domain: 192.168.1.1 (Router address)
User Name: username (Authentication user name)
      SIP Address: 220@192.168.1.1 (<internal phone number>@<domain>)

      Cordialement

    @Fanny11

I don’t feel like these make the case for this. This application must be to log into another service provider via the web. These are as if you have a subscription to another provider for this kind of service.

Until now, well, until yesterday, I also used the services of Switzernet (https://www.switzernet.com/home/) for telephony. However, they have had technical problems for more than a month which have prevented calls from being received, a shame for a telephone company! So, I had this “Telephone” application configured with the data from my SIP account with Switzernet and I wanted to modify them to enter Swisscom data, since Swisscom also provides VoIP telephony. Why wouldn’t that be compatible (this area is not my strong point…)?

    Hello JnPx,

I was the one who asked the question initially and I would be delighted if it worked for me, but not being very good with computers, obviously it doesn’t work…

In the Telephone app I have the following fields:

Full name: what should I put?

    Domain: 192.168.1.1

User Name: what should I put?

    Password: Swisscom login password, correct?

I have to use my local IP telephony access data that I have with Swisscom, right?

    Thank you for your response.

    Best regards

@Doremi Great, it finally works, thank you for your photos!!! I had to add the password manually. I’ve been waiting for this option for so long, thank you very much!
