NAS access from outside

Hello, I am a newbie to networking,

I’m looking for a way to access my QNAP (TS269L) from outside (outside my local network).

At home I have a standard fiber line with the SwissCom Internet-Box (installed in 2014) and my QNAP at the local IP address: 192.168.1.103 on the swisscom modem/router.

My PC connected to the router is at: 192.168.1.108.

When I ask for the IP address of my PC (www.mon-ip.com) I get: 188.62.153.220

with an associated hostname: 220.153.62.188.dynamic.wline.res.cust.swisscom.ch

How do I find the IP address of my QNAP to connect from outside???

Thanks in advance.

Philip

Hello Philippe Zug, welcome to the forum., hello everyone.,

There is the native QNAP software called “myQNAPcloud Connect” which will allow you to configure your TS-269L and your Internet-Box for access from outside your network (access from the internet).

Here, the link to the download page of your QNAP.

*** Regardless of the software, check its source.

Use only the original, downloaded from the source (here, it is the QNAP site).

This is particularly important for the software that allows you to access your home network from the internet. ***

In this open page,

-> click the “Utility” button.

-> on the next page, under the “myQNAPcloud Connect for Windows” line, click on “Europe”.

-> downloading will begin.

And here under this link, a tutorial video of “myQNAPcloud Connect”.

You will no longer need to worry about the external IP address of your QNAP.

Sometimes, our Internet Boxes cause us the problem of opening a port (port forwarding).

You will keep us informed, on occasion, about the rest of your adventure, please.

I found your post very well worded. 😉 The essentials were well described.

Happy installation to you, and have a good day everyone.

Good morning,

I would like to return to the subject…

Until this summer, I had another swisscom router, and everything worked fine with Mycloudlink. Since this summer, I have changed my subscription and I have a Centro Business 1 router (Centro Business firmware V7.10.18), and I can no longer access my NAS from the outside, nor change anything at Mycloudlink.

My Nas tries to configure the router and is unsuccessful (no UPnP router found on the network).

Is there a “simple” solution to this problem?

Likewise, in the router, I find a “UPnP” line in the LAN firewall rules (everything is in red), except the last line, but no path to modify this rule. Is it possible to access these modifications?

Kind regards and have a nice day

Hello jms821, hello everyone.,

In this case, it is likely that you will have no choice but to manually configure your router.

Here under this link, and under it you will find two explanatory documents with your SME router.

If you subscribe to a “Business” type subscription for SMEs, you can also request technical assistance from SME Hotline: 0800 055 055.

Good afternoon to you, to all of you.
