Blocking unwanted calls

  • Unwanted calls are more and more frequent (Advertising-surveys-various scams etc….) > 50% of calls. Blocking 50 numbers is not enough because the numbers for these calls change all the time.

Isn’t it possible to make a personal list of accepted numbers rather than blocking numbers you don’t want to receive?

    Hello @Maxiouid

To block more unwanted numbers, it is possible to block numbers starting with the same number combination: enter the common number combination and end with the star sign, for example “555 0100*”.

Furthermore, probably at the end of 2016, Swisscom will exclusively offer all its All IP customers an automatic anti-spam filter to block unwanted advertising calls.

Have a good end of the day,

    Thank you for your response.

I already use the use of stars after the first digits to block calls coming from certain foreign countries (Spain, Morocco, Tunisia, France etc….. I cannot block all calls coming from abroad because I have family in some other foreign countries.

On the other hand, many unwanted calls have numbers that start with Swiss codes 021, 022, 033 etc…. Blocking must be done individually and 50 blocks are not, after a certain time, sufficient.

Looking forward to a viable and rapid solution from Swisscom.

    With my best regards

    Good morning.

In addition to your answer below, can you indicate where to introduce the combination of common numbers according to your example “555 0100”.

    Thank you for your response.

    Have a good weekend.

    Good morning,

The blocking function is known and used, but currently remains limited and ineffective.

This is the solution envisaged by the end of the year by Swisscom and announced by @LeylaG in August which could possibly bring an improvement.

    Best regards

    Good morning,

Today I received a call to nvo 032… number that I had already blocked some time ago. Question why a blocked call can pass the filter set up?

Another question, what is the use of a filter if it is ineffective?

    Thank you for your response

    Good morning,

The call can be international: +32 Belgium.

If no one known in this country blocked +32*

    Best regards

    Here is the number in question: +41 32 968 70 52

Sorry, but this number as you will see, it is indeed Swiss.

Why can this number bypass the blocking filter?

I had almost the same problem but I have 2 numbers.

If the caller phones the second number, the call goes through and this is normal.

I had a second, more unpleasant problem:

it is possible to block the last caller directly from the phone

BUT BE CAREFUL the last caller is not the one on the list but the last caller on the first number.

This is how I involuntarily blocked the numbers of people who absolutely had to reach me!!!

    A little comparison:

if we place two monkeys each on an electric chair (an unpleasant shock but not dangerous!) and we give one monkey a switch to stop the shock, it will be stressed and produce an ulcer in the stomach by wanting to avoid shocks. The other will continue to live with his shocks and without an ulcer.

It’s probably better to live without using the call list (ridiculously limited to 50:smileymad🙂… and hope not to dream while waiting for the new solution:smileyhappy:.

    @Swing18

    Good morning,

The block list automatically transforms a number +41 32 xxx into 032 xxx after entering.

This is a bug (or a choice?) from Swisscom, it currently remains a mystery and as a result this flaw allows the Call Center to take advantage of it and make people believe that the call is international +41 32 xxx.

In any case, these polluting numbers change continually and the limit of 50, even with the * joker, is quickly reached.

Wait for the solution which will be proposed by the end of the year by Swisscom announced in LeylaG’s post.

    Best regards

What I don’t understand is that in the directories (search.ch etc.) certain numbers are indeed referenced as “Callcenter” and Swisscom telephones (Davos, Montreux etc.) do not display them as such. :smileymad::smileysad:

That would already be a great relief!!!

    Good evening everyone,

I discovered that Swisscom has increased the limit on the number of blocked numbers from 50 to 200.

Very good idea… but I have the problem that it is no longer possible to use the * to block a group of numbers. The interface says the number syntax is not correct and refuses to save the entry, although the service description still mentions this option.

I hope this is a temporary limitation that will be fixed quickly.

    @DanielD Good evening

Indeed you have to wait for the customer area and in “limited use” disturbance just like the order of the channels Swisscom TV these are a mess!!!!

    @DanielD

    Good morning,

    For the block list:

    - for Switzerland enter the number with zero prefix in front of p. ex.0351234*

    - for international put the + in front of p. ex +1745 xxx*

    Best regards
