If it really works for everyone with the Google DNS address then it is a DNS problem at Swisscom and should therefore be solved.

However, if there is a Swisscom DNS problem, other pages are usually also affected and so far there have been no reports.

Sometimes it helps if Swisscom assigns a new IP Internet address for the router.

Hi,

It should be relatively easy to try out, right?

It’s not a “page” affected but a dedicated content server - maybe that makes a difference?

Ok, in any case, if the Google DNS server address temporarily solves the problem, it is important to mention it to Swisscom support so that you can better pinpoint the error and find a solution.

I now have Apple TV and iTunes running again with 8.8.8.8.

Thank you for the tips.

Still hope that Swisscom solves the problem.

What speaks against 8.8.8.8 as a permanent solution? I entered this DNS address in the router and left the address assignment on DHCP, so I don’t have to enter anything manually in the end devices.

Actually, V hed is right, I haven’t seen any disadvantages so far. All 3 printers are on the network. And the download speed has even increased slightly. OK!

I only entered the 8.8.8.8 address on the Apple box.
I didn’t do this on the iPhone because otherwise the Internet-Box app wouldn’t work.

Hello everyone

Together with Apple, we were able to isolate and resolve the issue. Downloads should be possible again from now on - thank you for your support and input in the community.

Kind regards

Hello Mike78

According to our technicians, the problem was due to an update in our DNS server.

We were able to successfully resolve this.

Best regards

Hi AndresF - unfortunately I’m still experiencing errors with some movies, the error message has changed though, now it says “An unexpected error occurred” when I try to load the movie.

Examples are “Big Hero 6” and “Fantastic Mr Fox”.

I can send you my IP if helpful.

Thanks.

Apple had numerous service outages on Thursday evening:

Hello AndresF

Is it possible that the problem exists again? More and more content from iTunes is giving me the message “Error loading content” on Apple TV. I restarted the router (several times), entered the DNS server on AppleTV with 8.8.8.8, restored etc. Actually everything. Nothing worked. Please help.
