New UHD BOX and Samsung TV

Hello everyone

I got the new Swisscom TV Box (UHD). I also have a new Samsung TV (UHD capable). I have two questions/problems:

Remote control:

I tried to set up the ox so that I can control it with the TV-FB. During setup, the box did not recognize the Samsung FB. Is there a trick here?

The issue that concerns me more is the resolution/quality of the image:

The picture quality is far from UHD, which is probably because there is no content yet. The problem is that it’s currently SD rather than HD.

You can see this especially with faces and texts.

The UHD wizard shows me that HDCP 2.2. Copy protection is not supported, even though the TV can and the box is connected to the correct HDMI.

On the other hand, I noticed that I have a flickering at the bottom of some replay broadcasts.

Can someone help me? What a shame if I had to send the box back to you or bought the new TV for free.

with the new ones it is HDMI2 (MHL).

I have now unplugged AppleTV on HDMI1. Now I have 4 green hoes in the UHD Assi.

However, this doesn’t make the picture any better.

Yes, of course. If I watch a UHD film (Coral Reef) it also works.

However, the normal HD channels are currently more on SD quality 😞

How far away are you sitting from your TV?
Because 48 inches isn’t exactly big…

This will at least give you a natural picture.

Actually, a TV shouldn’t make such a mess when it comes out of the box - it’s more likely to indicate a connection or other software problem.

I don’t know, maybe the Swisscom UHD box isn’t compatible with your Samsung TV. For me, the image is also split and runs from bottom to top. According to Swisscom technicians, this is a Samsung problem that should be fixed with an update…

No, I called 0800800800 and the technician told me the problem was known and reported to Samsung. Samsung is switching on an update…I don’t know when…see also my post about the new swisscom uhd box not compatible with Samsung

The Samsung TV is not compatible with the UHD box, not the other way around.

But Swisscom makes it a bit easy for itself. The UHD box is still in the beta testing phase, that’s what I think.
