Switch Fibre > RJ45 (HES-3106)

Good morning,

Given the deplorable stability of the Internet-Box (and before the Centro Grande) as soon as they have a relatively large number of connections, I am considering putting a Fiber switch on the front (an HES-3106 for example) and connecting a real router on it.

Has anyone tried this type of configuration, does it work well?

First results: The switch itself works. In any case in DHCP mode on VLAN 10. I was not able to test PPPoE mode on VLAN 11 because I do not have the authentication information. VLAN reserved for professionals?

On the other hand with my router or a PC, I do not get a “good” IP, I find myself on a range 100.90.192.0-100.90.207.255 with a GW in 100.90.192.1 and impossible to go out on the net, the traffic is n is not routed. I retrieve the correct DNS, but they cannot be reached.

From what I have read here and there it may be linked to the fact that you have to make a DHCP request with option 60 entered. Unfortunately my current router cannot do this. So I’m a little stuck 🙂
