Internet-Box plus - neuer Firmware - Release

Hello everyone

From Monday (02:00) we will update the Internet-Box plus to Release 7.

Stability, security and a few new things were the main focus during development. We have further improved the issue of WLAN in particular. As always, I recommend our help pages, where you can find almost everything you need:

[https://www.swisscom.ch/de/privatkunden/hilfe/geraet/internet-router/internetbox.html](https://www.swisscom.ch/de/privatkunden/hilfe/geraet/internet-router/ internetbox.html)

These will be updated on Monday/Tuesday.

Internet Box Release 7 - Contents

  • Integration of the very latest available WLAN drivers from the chip manufacturer Broadcom. The update resolves a variety of reported issues related to Wi-Fi.

  • The WiFi area has also been further expanded in the web portal. A WLAN diagnostic function is now available. This means that all WLANs in the area can be scanned and displayed sorted by channel at the push of a button

  • Support for the myStrom switches in the Internet-Box app (with the latest app version 5 - partly already available. However, there is still an update for the iOS version, as iOS9 still produced an error)

  • Own DNS server can be selected in the web portal

  • Local SIP access data can be generated in the Internet Box web portal and entered into the SIP telephones. The SIP telephone then registers with the Internet box and can be reached via the normal telephone number at home. Internal telephone calls between SIP telephones and an HD phone are also possible.

  • Multiline: After connecting a DECT HD phone, the phone number assignment can be made directly on the phone. This allows you to directly select which HD phone should ring which number when you call - and this without logging into the web portal. This function also requires an update of the HD phones. The HD phones Montreux, Locarno (phones that were delivered with firmware 5) and Rousseau will be automatically updated until the end of October

  • Improvements for Multiline customers when it comes to missed calls

  • Improvements in backup and restore of settings

  • Improvements in the web portal

  • DECT paging button

  • Security updates

  • Stability improvements

  • Various bug fixes

A small problem in WLAN diagnostics:

There is obviously someone in my neighborhood who doesn’t want to broadcast an SSID - that looks a little strange in the table with the WLANs.

By the way, my Android device doesn’t see this thing - long live the quality of the antenna in the laptop.

By the way, it’s not entirely clear to me whether/how the table is sorted?

In the English localization (sorry, it’s just my browser) of http://internetbox.home/#storage/data two different terms are used to refer to the same thing Concept to reference:

- central storage

- main memory

Only one term should be used to refer to the identical concept. In my opinion, “central storage” is more suitable than “main memory”; In my opinion, the consistent use of “attached storage” would be better overall.

Final feedback, really 😉

In standard mode, http://internetbox.home/#network/settings/ip-settings does not show which IP addresses are statically configured are.

That’s not good because it’s not transparent.

I would expect that statically assigned IPv4 addresses would be displayed in standard mode, but that editing this expert data would not be possible.

The same applies to DMZ - if that were to be switched on, then I would also like to see it in standard mode, but not be able to edit it.

There are always DHCP IPV4 address conflicts. Devices: Universal connection kit 2x TV boxes and PC with WLAN. One TV-Box is connected via the UVK. (All DHCP and SC devices) If I change the conflicting addresses manually in the WEB-Gui, the same thing happens again in 5-10 minutes with a different address. That can’t be it.

What happens if you restart the Internet box and then wait 3-5 minutes if an address conflict occurs?

Installationen, Netzwerk, Internet, Computertechnik, OS Windows, Apple und Linux.

I had the same problem too. However, the FW was loaded manually and the firmware application was initially forgotten. After loading this and a new Reebot, it didn’t happen again for me - until now…

@stwin @WalterB It kept happening despite a reset, restarting everything didn’t help. Router IB+ firmware 6.x (currently the latest with the latest app firmware). Effect of the conflict: one of the IB’s always stopped.

Maybe load the latest firmware 7 xx and AP onto the Internet-Box Plus again, important first the firmware, then restart and then the application.

N.B. What do you mean by that * Effect of the conflict: one of the IB’s always stopped.* Do you have several Internet boxes?

Yes, I have 2 boxes. Solution to the problem, I replaced the IB+ and then it was quiet. I have often observed this problem in the field -> Info for @Anonymous

What are the conditions for the RSSI info to (re)appear from the WLAN scan?

Yesterday I still had it (see screenshot above), but after the umpteenth run of the diagnostics (possibly also after changing parameters in the radios) nothing came back. Now, even after a few hours, nothing comes.

Is there a minimum time required from “rest” until RSSI data is made available? If this is the case -> entry in (i) text, could reduce support costs.

@WalterB Unfortunately I can no longer say the SNR of the IB+, I’m no longer there. But I’ll pay attention to it next time if I have a problem like that again, which I hope I don’t.

I received and installed the IBplus today. The installed firmwares are 5.01.12/5.01.20. When will these versions be automatically updated? Thank you very much.
