Internet box reboot.

Hello, subscriber to Vivo L on fiber, since this evening my internet box has not stopped restarting almost every hour. It’s not a disconnection but rather the router which restarts completely with the welcome message. It reconnects and starts again basically 1 hour later.

I called but without any solution, apart from resetting the router which obviously didn’t change anything, I was advised to plug the router into another electrical outlet, again obviously that didn’t change anything.

The internet box is the black and white box with a digital screen, when the router is connected the speed is completely normal 200mbits/s.

Does anyone have any advice or a solution?

Thanks in advance. 🙂

Here it starts again… almost every hour (without being precise either) the Internet box restarts by itself. However the connection is completely stable between reboots, does anyone have an idea why? Could there be a problem with the Internet box?

Hello Turtle,

Thank you for your request. In fact, the Internet-Box should not restart by itself in this way. We will contact you as soon as possible to help you.

Have a great rest of the day and have a good weekend.

Cordialement

Thank you for contacting me by phone, there’s no denying Swisscom’s customer service is really great!

But like the first time, the router only did this for one day to finally calm down. I will try to see if the problem comes from me, a possible incompatibility with one of the PCs? Although it would seem strange to me, there must be a cause.

Anyway, thank you! 🙂

Good morning,

Where are you with this problem because I have the same one, namely my internet box restarts approximately once or twice a day. I have already contacted support, done the reset and even exchanged the router but nothing to do… Can a PC create these restarts?

Hello, I have changed absolutely nothing in my home, neither PC nor configuration nor settings, nothing, yet I have not had a restart for a good month.

So I have no idea why. 😞 Sorry.

I find myself in the same situation, except that my internet box reboots every two to three days around 10:30 p.m.-11:00 p.m.

Without doing anything like manipulation, just watching TV. The image freezes and a message from the TV box invites me to check my connection. At this time I notice that the internet box menu is on welcome and restart.

Good morning,

@pascal_pad

Restarts on the Internet Box may be due to the installation of updates released by Swisscom. This is part of the procedures for making new features or planned corrections available. A restart often takes place during the night, rarely during the day, it generally lasts less than 5 minutes.

Thanks for the info, but I thought these updates took place around 02:00 - 03:00 in the morning. 10:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. is too early in my opinion when you’re watching TV and everything stops, including the internet. I agree that it’s only 5 minutes but that’s enough to make us miss the crucial moment of the film we’re watching or the moment where the presenter is going to be hit by his guest during a televised debate (infrared).

Same problem here. Once or several times a day.

First, Swisscom sent me a new router, but that didn’t change the problems with interruptions and unexpected restarts.

Today, unable to identify the problem by telephone, Swisscom offered me a visit from a technician… at my expense!

Plus, the guy on the other end of the line almost accused me of turning off the router myself… as if that’s all I had to do!?!

Did you find a solution?

At first I noticed that my laptop occupied the same IP address in WLAN AND wired!!!

while two separate IP addresses are well defined… I manually configured my wired and WLAN IP addresses then I did a factory reboot of the internet box. I’m waiting now to see what happens.

Why does it automatically assign an identical address to two ports!!! Mystery…

Good evening,

Try to reset the router the small hole on the back with a paper clip or something sharp,

turn everything off completely all night TV Box or Internet Box, TV, router

Yet another call this afternoon after a weekend marked by several outages…

The guy on the other end of the line is much nicer this time. His solution: a change in the router’s IP address.

Small commercial gesture to apologize: a free month of subscription to the C+ bouquet.

Hoping I won’t have to call them back in the next few days, if the problem persists.

Wait and see…
