Internet Box 06.01.10 / 06.01.24 - Give us feedback here

Hello

Today we started rolling out a new, major firmware release for the Internet Box. In addition to new functions, we have brought basic software components up to date. That was certainly a challenge that we were only able to overcome in close coordination with our partners.

The firmware has been tested in real life for months in the laboratory and with a small group of customers and employees, so we can now provide this firmware with a very good feeling. Despite all efforts, it can always happen that problems can occur with individual home network configurations. Please let us know as specifically as possible in response here. During our tests we found that in many cases it turned out that the error was on the client side. Therefore, make sure that the devices at home are always up to date (even a switch, a printer or a laptop can get firmware updates or driver updates from the manufacturer - but who am I telling 😉 )

Please also note our help pages, where many functions are explained.

The latest firmware can be found here. I would like to point out that no one needs to do a manual update as we will be updating all routers to this level in the next few days. However, if you install manually, please follow the instructions point by point. Thanks. Manual update is at your own risk.

Just awesome!!

I have just set up my Mobotix on Swisscom’s DynDns. Works wonderfully.

The only thing that doesn’t work for me yet is when I enter the dyn address on the iPhone, it doesn’t find anything. Maybe I’m doing something wrong. But otherwise GREAT Merci Swisscom:smileyhappy:

VPN actually runs smoothly. Is it correct that I can only make ONE VPN connection at a time?

yes, that is true.

I have now activated my Synology’s VPN server - multiple connections are possible and you also have more options…

….keep on rockin' 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼

I also have Synology at home. But I’ll use the Swisscom VPN first (especially to test whether the Swisscom VPN is FASTER than the Synology one). And: Synology can also OpenVPN…

Hello,
I did the upgrade this morning with no problems. However, after half an hour I noticed that the list of wired devices in the Internet-box web portal and in the internet-box app (iOS) was empty.
I switched off all devices, restarted the Internet box, and turned the devices back on. I saw the first 3 devices on the web portal, but then they disappeared again.
everything works without problems, only the list is missing.
I can’t use the parental control function now because the list is empty there too.
Some ideas?

Hello

Did you update both parts in the correct order? And the Internet box also shows you the correct firmware version? I don’t know the behavior. You can restart the IB again and then wait a little until all parts are loaded cleanly. Please do not do a reset. If the problem persists, please call the hotline so that the problem can be officially included in support. It would be interesting to know which devices you have connected to the IB.

Yes, I did the update in the correct order. The display on the Internet box also shows both firmware versions. I did a reset, waited for some time, and then started the wired devices.
Among other things, I have a TV box 2.0, 4 wireless APs (Apple airport), iMac, and a music system…. I don’t use the wireless from the Internet box.
I’ll call the hotline.
Thank you very much.

“The service cannot connect to the dynamic DNS server.”

-> just now, trying to activate Swisscom DynDNS.

Load?

What’s a little irritating (unattractive / usability) is that this error message remains, even if you check the “activate” checkbox again (i.e. user interaction).

So - again from the beginning and it comes:

“The DNS name is already in use. Please choose a different name.”

Ooook. “Cancel”. And, whoops, there it is, my name.

This smells like a “distributed transaction” and is not implemented completely cleanly. I would suspect a timeout on the return channel to the router while the backend was able to register successfully.

VPN - is it really pure L2TP (as shown) or does it also contain an encryption component? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Layer_2_Tunneling_Protocol#L2TP.2FIPsec))

The documentation says “A VPN server (Virtual Private Network) means that you can access your home network via an encrypted channel while on the go” - which in principle does not apply to L2TP 😉

No matter how: I would like to suggest that either “L2TP/IPsec” or “L2TP (without encryption)” is displayed.

The average surfer may immediately associate VPN with an encrypted tunnel. And in this role I had to check for myself whether encryption was inherent in L2TP.

The documentation on [https://www.swisscom.ch/de/privatkunden/hilfe/loesung/vpn-server.html](https://www.swisscom.ch/de/privatkunden/hilfe/loesung/vpn-server .html) also links to a Microsoft page for “Windows Operating System”; http://support.microsoft.com/kb/926179/de This link leads nowhere (404). I get a result via http://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/926179 or http://support .microsoft.com/en-us/kb/926179/de

You could perhaps also list the different Windows versions in the help, especially since the KB article ends with Windows Vista. We are almost four versions further (7, 8, 8.1, 10) - details (not validated) at [http://www.rebelpeon.com/synology-l2tpipsec-vpn/](http://www. rebelpeon.com/synology-l2tpipsec-vpn/)

Hello everyone

Is it normal that the router FW 06.01.10 was only updated on my IB, but the application FW is still 05.01.18/813? Aren’t these two firmwares installed together, i.e. automatically one after the other?

I have everything set to automatic and have never manually updated anything in the IB.

So I now have the status 06.01.10 / 05.01.18/813 (instead of 06.01.10 / 06.01.24)

It was exactly the same for me as Daffy2 describes above.

But I still have a problem. For example, if I give the connected PS4 or the Synology NAS a manual name and an icon, it will be reset to default after a while. So the PC icon and a name called PCxxx. And this despite the fact that the devices have all been assigned a fixed IP. Is that the case with you too?

Show original language (German)

@Mountainman Normally both parts are played one after the other. There may not have been enough time in our time slot, then it will be made up for at the next appointment. But you can also simply install the second part manually. Please restart the IB again after the installation.

Hello everyone

Problem solved itself.

This afternoon I noticed that the application firmware has now been automatically updated to version 06.01.24.

Many thanks to swisscom.

The two new firmware work perfectly.

Even a firmware update on my “Rousseau 300” was carried out automatically.

Congratulations, great work!

Hello everyone

Everything is going well for me too. part 1 of the firmware was installed automatically. I installed part 2 manually.

VPN server activated and running perfectly. Tried the Swisscom DNS service. this one is also running.

really TOP swisscom! This is how the internet box is fun. When the landline function for my cell phone comes along, I’ll soon be completely happy 🙂

Greetings René

I always get the error message

“The service cannot connect to the dynamic DNS server”

What’s the problem here? Unfortunately, Internet-Box Restat did not have the desired effect.
