VOIP Phone recommendations

For some time (at least a year) we've only had VOIP telephony at home sitting on top of our Swisscom fibre connection.

We have been using the Gigaset C610 IP handset

After good service the Gigaset C610 IP is now a little broken and needs replacement. Now I have done quite a lot of research but can't seem to find a better phone, I am however loathed to buy the same unit again!

So I'm reaching out to this community please.

Does anybody have a better suggestion for a VOIP phone with

a) corded or Bluetooth headset

b) Does not need any fancy interface just numbers to dial

c) Does not need addressbook or anything else!

d) I think Bluetooth instead of corded would be better, we could use our existing Bluetooth headset that I use with my laptop.

Anybody any suggestions?

For the record our 2 VOIP subscriptions allow us to have 1 UK number and 1 Swiss number. They dial A LOT faster than the old Swisscom lines and cost, well almost nothing (well compared to the monthly fibre cost!)

if you have a swisscom internet box router, than go for a swisscom device.

They don't offer corder voip handset, yet, neither bluetooth.

I'm not sure what information I can glean from the reply I just see to my question. At best it provides zero information and is a misguided/incorrect reply.

Most people know that Swisscom does not sell eith a VOIP or Bluetooth handfree phone compatible headset. Let's go back to basics

a) I don't have a Analog Phone line at all. This saves money

b) For a few years we have been very happy with the Gigaset C610 IP which I gave a link to our review of

To list the benefits of VOIP

1. No need for a Swisscom phone number

2. Ability to have multiple phone numbers, for example I have a UK number so that UK people can call me for low cost or because most BT subscription plans have free UK calling, it is free for them

3. Dialing is much faster

4. Quality is just incredible.

So back to the original point then

I ideally need a cordless VOIP phone with either a simple wired headset or a Bluetooth Headset.

It JUST needs VOIP ability, it DOES NOT need any regular analog telephone connection ability

It DOES NOT need any fancy features like address book or answer machine since we don't use them

it DOES NOT need to run Android on my handset as I have a separate Android computer if I want to run Android apps

Basically a VOIP phone with simple headset, Bluetooth headset ability would be even better.

Oh, and I notice that we never did publish the VOIP settings that we said we would on majzel.blogspot.com so we will try to rectify that on Tuesday 28th October.

Back to the question: recommendations based on experience anybody?

So if you could enlighten me. There are a range of IP phones. Now on your Fibre connections it's possible to use phones, I assume you mean IP phones. In common parlance this is VOIP.

However what I require is a phone to peform a SIP function, in fact this was the normal use of VOIP, i.e before Swisscom or other IP telephony was introduced it has been commonplace for customers to use VOIP phones with a SIP protocol.

So do the phones you list have SIP functionality? I repeat that I don't have a Swisscom phone number or subscription for a number.

I also see this note on the page:

The new HD-Phones by Swisscom let you benefit from all the advantages of the new fixed network telephony (IP).
You can continue to use your existing analogue fixed network phones and fax machines. You cannot use ISDN or SIP phones. Please visit our Help section for information on connecting devices and putting them into operation.

This is telling me that I can't use a SIP phone and plug it into the back of a Swisscom router telephone socket, but it does not say whether the above phones can do SIP or not. (i.e. the reverse of the quotation).
