IMAP problems with Bluewin?

  • My various IMAP accounts have been working since about yesterday May 18th. Frequently error messages when syncing with the IMAP servers.

The IMAP server has terminated the connection. The connection may have been inactive for too long.

    Account: xyz@bluewin.ch
    disconncted

    Protocol: IMAP
    Server: imaps.bluewin.ch
    Anschluss: 993
    Error code: 0×8000CCCDD

Clients: several Outlook 2007 and Android K-9

Is there something known or am I the only one?

    greetings, o.s.t.

    same here.

I have these problems too. I noticed this especially on my smartphone.

The Windows PC has been causing problems in this regard since switching to Outlook 2010.

But this is more of an Outlook <–> virus scanner problem.

    by the way:

I’ve been having problems accessing via imap for weeks:

Sometimes it takes 1-2 minutes until the connection is established via imaps.

I’ve had exactly the same problem since yesterday. Either it’s Swisscom or Outlook 2010, but I think Swisscom should take care of the problem because it certainly affects a lot of users (because Outlook is certainly the most widespread, although of course not everyone has 2010 and whether it’s the same with the other versions There are also problems, I don’t know). Competent help is required here

I don’t use Outlook 2010, but several OL2007, and I definitely have the problem there. See opening post

If you know that, SWISSCOM is on the case or they don’t “know” anything yet. There are always SWISSCOM MA’s logged in here in the forum.

hmmm, good question. I really assume that they know it - not just because of the postings here in the forum and the mods here…

But as has been “learned” in the past, it unfortunately always takes a while until the "network and service status "what is written in. You always hope that you can get things straightened out quickly without having to report a problem. From the operator’s point of view, understandable, from the user’s point of view, of course, very questionable, since you don’t know what the situation is…

As far as I’m concerned, you can remove the “Solved” mark again - I still have the same problem - your technicians can get behind it again

    Hello o.s.t.

Thank you for the feedback. Does the problem still exist? Will all accounts lose connections after a while? After our tests on Friday, we no longer noticed any connection interruptions. Thank you very much for the feedback.

    With regards

    @AndresF

The situation seems to have temporarily normalized overnight…

Yesterday - after your “Solved” message, the problems were definitely still there for me

Let’s leave it at that - you can count on me to get back to you if there are any problems again…

    greetings, o.s.t.

I still have the problem with the IMAP messages (Outlook2007).

    user input timeout
    Protocol: IMAP
    Server: imap.bluewin.ch
    Anschluss: 143
    Error code: 0×800CCCDD

    I still have the problems.
Significantly less than at the beginning of the problem, but it keeps coming back.

And it can’t be my computer or Outlook 2010 because I have another email account in the same Outlook connected to the same profile via IMAP and the message never appears there, from its server.

The problem must therefore be in the Swisscom servers (connection).

I would be happy if this could really be solved properly in the next few days.

    Thanks.

    Hello 99th

No, I haven’t called the hotline yet.

But they certainly can’t tell me anything other than that the problem is known.

If it’s still happening in the middle of next week, I’ll call the hotline and have a ticket opened so that it can be looked into.

    Hello charmer

Why wait so long doesn’t make sense, because I think the problem can only be recorded if it is reported. I think even if many users report this problem, it will also be prioritized in the error message. But I can’t say whether that’s true, it’s just a guess based purely on logical conclusions.

    Greetings 99th

    Update:

The problem still exists (at least for me) - although not as often - but not with a service quality worthy of Swisscom.

IMAP problems arise from time to time at Swisscom:

    http://breitbandforum.ch/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=314

It’s a shame that we can’t really get it under control. Especially in the age of smartphones etc., IMAP is of course the protocol of choice!

    [Conjecture]

Maybe the users have noticed this now and are diligently switching from POP to IMAP, but the infrastructure/capacity is lagging behind… We have the result here…

    [/Conjecture]
