DDNS connection not possible with Synology D212+ and new 2.0 modem

Hello everyone.

I installed my Synology D212+ NAS about 2 years ago. At the time I had the Centro Pirelli (If I’m not mistaken!) and I could connect to my NAS from the outside only with QuickConnect.

I recently switched to fiber (100Mb) with the new Swisscom 2.0 modem.

The problem remains the same, only the connection with QuickConnect works but it is impossible to connect with my DDNS address (XXXXX.synology.me).

Does anyone have a solution or is it definitely dead with Swisscom modems?

Thanks in advance

Good evening,

Before we get into the details, have you configured port forwarding on the router?

Second point, when you test access from outside you should not do it with a computer on the LAN or on WIFI. The best is to use a smartphone on the mobile network or to test at a friend’s house.

The easiest way is to configure your NAS with a fixed IP address and then manually add port forwarding in the internet box using the list of ports below.

This link shows the list of ports used by the NAS: What are the network ports used by Synology services?

If you have configured the NAS firewall to block certain ports, do not forget to reconfigure it.

If you are having trouble setting up remote access on the NAS, please tell me what services you want to access so I can explain how to do it.

Good morning

I have the Synology DS214+Play, for the moment I can access it from outside by putting it in DMZ on the Swisscom box. For configuration via UpnP I have the impression that boxing is a model not recognized by Synology.

The DMZ option is nice but it cuts off access to your entire network remotely (only the Synology is visible), which can be a good idea for security.
