New HD channels coming soon?

Will there be new HD channels soon, e.g. TNT film / TNT series?

Of course it would also be interesting, the main thing is that more are coming in HD quickly. As far as I’m concerned, they can cost extra.

“Normal” TV, i.e. in SD, hasn’t been fun for me for a long time. With IPTV, swisscom has the huge advantage of offering virtually every HD stream. Which can lead to a problem with the cable due to the bandwidth.

It would also be nice if the licensing problem regarding ORF HD was solved. There are a few cable providers that broadcast ORF HD.

Are you sure that ORF HD is offered in CH?

Haven’t seen anyone do that yet. But it could definitely be.

ORF HD would of course be brilliant!

To do this, the HD bandwidths would have to be reduced - and AFAIK the SRG doesn’t want that

ORF HD - only possible if DVB-T can be accessed at the border.

That means that various people in Switzerland could receive ORF HD via sctv, but that wouldn’t be very fair if some people got it and others watched it…

We at Swisscom can probably forget about TNT entirely. There is still nothing going in that direction. BBC One HD was once promised, but nothing is working there either. We haven’t received any new channels since November. In this respect, the competition is a lot better, dear Swisscom!

I wrote about BBC ONE HD two days ago and haven’t had a reply yet. I’m also curious to see whether something will be done soon.

Of course, swisscom has the huge advantage of being able to offer virtually unlimited channels in HD. With cable it’s not so easy in terms of bandwidth.

You can only get 2 HD channels at the same time if you have a glass Anschluss at home and order an expensive Vivo Casa subscription. Otherwise it’s hopeless :smileysad:

Expensive is relatively Vivo Casa is a combination offer, and you should do a cost-benefit calculation and compare. But if you have a nice glass Anschluss where you live, why not use it effectively?
