Switel DECT telephone whistles for outgoing calls after Anschluss to internet box

I installed the new Internet box with Swisscom TV 2.0 this week and everything is working so far without any problems.

I connected our landline telephone “Switel” to the Internet box using a cable according to the instructions. I paired it, the Internet box also recognized the Switel phone and the pairing process was OK. Now the problem:

- During outgoing calls the phone whistles (electronic frequency-like whistle) but it rings when I call my cell phone, for example. You can’t speak but you can only hear the whistling.

- Incoming calls work fine, the caller can be heard clearly, no problems

I have the feeling that an electronic component in the phone was destroyed when pairing the device with the Internet box 🙂

I’ve already replugged/reconnected everything/reset the Switel device…does anyone have any advice?

I have to admit, I paired the phone a bit hastily:

- first connect the Anschluss with cable and black splitter or filter directly to the box,

- Afterwards I played around with the pairing without the Switel base station, just as it should work with an IP telephone.

I think my old Switel didn’t handle it. I’ll probably have to buy the Rousseau from the Swisscom shop. It doesn’t cost that much and we rarely need the telephone network.

When I switch everything back to the way it should be, i.e. with the Switel base station - it still whistles.

OK, and which devices come into question?

So log out, yes. In the Internetbox Manager under Telephone / Dect Cordless Telephone / Logging out works without any problems. My phone number is listed twice under wired telephones - I can’t delete it. The Switel is in Anschluss 1 on the IB.

OK, it worked - the Switel had not been correctly registered again at the Switel base. I first pressed the button on the Bais and then tried to connect instead of the other way around 🙂
