@ All - calls to landline and mobile networks

************************* ************************* *****

Authorizations for making calls to landline and mobile networks are activated on an ongoing basis. Unfortunately, there are still minor technical problems that have not yet been fully resolved. As a result, some customers were not clearly recognized and activated as Infinity customers.

Unfortunately, I cannot give you an exact date for the completion of the activations. However, we expect the shutdowns to be completed this week as the issues are known and the development teams are working to implement a comprehensive solution.

We would like to apologize for the inconvenience.

I think it’s about time that Swisscom delivers on the promised services (telephoning for Infinity customers, etc.)

In my opinion, Swisscom would have been better off waiting a month or two before releasing the app and testing it better in advance, because as it stands now, it is really NOT an alternative to existing messenger apps…

@Michael Kerle:
After deleting the emoticon in my phone name, I was able to register without any problems.
It was really just the problem with the emoticon in my iPhone
Thanks for the help, now I can start testing 🙂

New IO messages are not displayed on the main display. So I don’t know that I received a message. where do I have to set this?
Thanks

Hallo?

I think the new app is good, although there are probably still some teething problems. However, the installation went smoothly. Unfortunately, incoming messages are not shown on the display. Can someone help me fix the problem? Thank you in advance

For me, outgoing calls to landlines and mobile networks also work perfectly with Infinity! Great thing! 🙂

Questions:

- Where should I send bug reports so that they are guaranteed to be read?

- What is the expected behavior when calling from an iO with Infinity to another Swisscom cell phone that also has iO? When is the call routed to OK and when does the “normal” mobile network ring? I hadn’t used iO on a prepaid cell phone for a while, and when I called it from my Infinity iO, the normal cell phone network rang. How long is the “timeout” after iO is not used until the calls go to the normal mobile network?

@ManuCH

You are welcome to publish your bug reports here. We read the blog regularly.

When making a call from the iO app to another user who also has iO installed, the following applies, regardless of when the person being called last used the app:

  • If you tap the handset symbol, the call will be established IP to IP (i.e. over the Internet).
  • When you tap on a phone number, the call is set up IP to PSTN (i.e. first over the Internet and then over the telephone network).
  • Chats are transferred from iO to iO

When making a call from the iO app to a contact who does not have the iO app installed, the following applies:

  • The call is always set up IP to PSTN
  • Chats are delivered as SMS

I hope this information helps you.

@Michael Guys,

here is my first bug report:

Sometimes it happens that after a call the app stops responding at all for several seconds. It behaves as follows:

- I’m making a call (whether on VoIP or PSTN)

- I hang up

- The contact information screen appears normally

- If I now want to click anything else (e.g. call again, or another screen like Contacts or Keypad) nothing happens. I can also no longer exit the app using the iPhone’s “Home” button. The “Power” button does not respond

It’s like when for some reason after a call the app uses 100% of the CPU for something. This takes about 10-20 seconds, then it responds normally again.

The app never crashes - it “revives” itself as soon as the “freeze” is over. It’s hard to reproduce because it doesn’t happen after every call, but only every now and then. But the problem has occurred several times - with a little patience it should be reproducible.

I use an iPhone 5 with iOS 6.1.4. I have a relatively large number of contacts (over 700) because I have synchronized my Facebook account into my iPhone section. Ev. Could this cause problems if the app “scans” the contacts every now and then? However, that is just a guess.

@ all - Registration problems with the iO app

Error message “Please try again later”

We were able to follow some cases closely and in almost all cases the users had emoticons integrated into their device names. This results in an error message. On the iPhone you can find the device name under -> Settings -> General -> Info -> Name. Users who deleted the emoticon from the device name were then able to register without any problems. Please try this and give us feedback accordingly.

That was exactly the solution! Thank you very much!
