Email 2 SMS Gateways

My question is pretty simple in fact.

Is Email 2 SMS enabled on Swisscom cell phone numbers?

Has Swisscom any plans on adding this very useful feature for their customers?

Does anyone know of Swiss phone carriers' gateways?

Or is there a good trustworthy and reliable paid or free service that could hook up a Swiss cell phone number and thus give the user the ability to receive emails converted into text messages to his cell phone?

For example:

mycellphonenumber@mms.natel.ch

mycellphonenumber@swisscom.ch or mycellphonenumber@swisscom.com

Explanation: I sent myself a SMS (which was converted to a MMS) from my cell phone (mycellphonenumber@mms.natel.ch) to my email address and received it. Yet when I hit the reply button to check if I could get a reply on my cell phone I received the following message from Swisscom.

Dear sender

Unfortunately no e-mail can be sent to the MMS originator (NATEL® number). A valid e-mail address should be entered.

Best regards
Swisscom"

This email 2 sms feature seems unavailable for Swiss cell phone numbers.

I could easily send an email from my email account to a Verizon cell phone number to mycellphonenumber@vtext.com (SMS) or one containing a picture to mycellphonenumber@vzwpix.com (MMS) and the recipient would receive my mail as a text message as the Verizon gateways would convert it into a text message.

No sorry, I haven't found any service yet.

Though I have found a service that might be of interest to you.

It can very handy when you quickly want to send an e-mail to someone without using internet data on your cell phone. For instance, you've just landed in Berlin for holiday and you quickly want to send a very brief email to your family.

sms2email relays SMS text messages as emails. Send an SMS to our memorable gateway number +44 (0)7766-40-41-42 with the first word of the SMS the recipients email address. The SMS will then be relayed to the recipient via email almost instantaneously with only the standard charges from your network operator.

How about an example?

To send the email message "Fred, I will be late for the afternoon meeting." to fred@fredbloggs.com, simply text...

fred@fredbloggs.com Fred, I will be late for the afternoon meeting.

to the number...

and sms2email will relay this SMS via email to...

What if I don't have an "@" symbol or an "_" symbol on my phone?

Most mobiles support both "@" and "_" sysmobls, but if not you can use...

?? instead of @

!! instead of _

How do they reply?

When you send via our gateway, the message will arrive at your friends/colleagues inbox as "from: yourmobilenumber@sms2email.com"

If you have an sms2email.com account, you can set up any replies to yourmobilenumber@sms2email.com to be forwarded back to your mobile as a text message (up to 160 characters). It costs 1 text message credit per reply received.
