Use of existing Nokia FastMile 5G Booster as 5G backup for fibre?

Earlier in this forum (years ago) I read that the conversion of “boosters” into “backups” will soon be available.
Yesterday, I called customer support and they told me that I first have to unlink the booster to start the conversion process. I did that. Calling again today they don’t remember what they have told me yesterday.

Now, what is the current state?
Is it possible to use a booster as backup, or is the feature in the works, or not even planned/scheduled?

Die Frage geht nicht um den Booster-Betrieb, sondern um den Einsatz des Boosters als 5G Fallback, falls die Glasfaserleitung ausfällt (dass man dann trotzdem noch langsameres Internet über 5G hat). Wenn man Glas hat wird der Booster-Betrieb nicht mehr unterstützt.

The Nokia FastMile 5G booster is designed solely to improve internet for individuals with low bandwidth, and not as a backup or emergency 5G device.

More than one participant in this forum mentioned that the “backup feature” is under consideration, or that it is in development. For example, @WalterB mentioned it here: https://community.swisscom.ch/t5/Internet-Wissensbox/Internet-Booster-5G-Speed-pr%C3%BCfen-bestellen-und-schneller-surfen/ta-p/689892/page/5

As I wrote earlier, the first customer representative of Swisscom confirmed that it *is possible* but since the bonding must be disabled first, the device must be “cancelled” before it can be reconfigured as backup.

Swisscom’s promises or specifications about what can be done with the 5G booster in the future are partly available but not yet fully implemented.

Once again: The booster can only be used in combination with the IB3/4 to increase speed for anyone who does not have high-speed access via copper. There is no study to support the claim that the Nokia FastMile 5G Booster can achieve what you desire (source Swisscom).
