Why prolongating the contract is more expensive than making a new one?

I've recently prolongated my mobile M subscription to more 24 months (and i bought an iphone 13 with it). After doing the math, my 24 months contract would cost roughly 2600.-.

however, making a new contract (using the online interface) would cost roughly 1855.-.

unfortunately, I discovered this after I prolongated my contract (which should end naturally in february 2023).

i have two questions:

- isn't that counterintuitive? i mean, loyal customers should be rewarded right?

- Is it possible to change things and negotiate with the boutique or the customer service?

here is the detailed math of it:

Blue Mobile M (nouveau abonnement):
- 49.90 for 6 months, after 69.90 = 299 + 1258

- Hardware: 12.45 x 24 = 298.
- Total: 1855

Blue Mobile M (boutique):

- 79.90 x 24 = 1917

- Hardware: 28.25 x 24 = 678

- Total = 2595 (740 de difference, soit 30 par mois!!)

This is a well-known problem, new customers just get these promotional offers, existing customers not. But that's the case with all telecom providers. This is of course a bit annoying, and sounds unfair at first, but I assume you also got a promotional offer when you were a new customer at Swisscom. It was like that for me.
You could of course cancel the subscription completely and then make a new one, but that is cumbersome and involves a lot of effort.

Of course, you can try to renegotiate with the Swisscom Shop, but I'm afraid that will not bring much, but asking costs nothing. That's all we can advise you as a customer, in this customer help customer forum.
