Hi everyone,
I have a problem with my wifi that I believe is potentially caused by a faulty router. But proving this is another thing!
On both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz options we are seeing that the internet connection is 'dropping' albeit only for a few seconds - but enough for every wifi connected device to lose it's connection.
Interestingly it does not affect the TV which obviously has a wired connection from the router. It also does not affect a second TV we have which is connected via a WLAN connection kit also wired to the router - so this suggests it's not the internet connection itself.
From a diagnostics perspective I can see that both connections use channels that are not used by other peoples wifi signals. I've also used a program called NetSpot which I ran on my laptop approx. 2 metres from the router and I can clearly see the breaks occuring. See below for 60, 30 and 5 minute views - the 5Gz signal is Pink and the 2.4GHz one Green.
The router is not the most up-to-date one available from Swisscom but was the previous model I believe - also shown below.
Anyone have any other ideas that I can try or should I just call Swisscom?
Many thanks,
Maah.
