Audio description on UK channels

Without changing anything yesterday we now have on some english TV programs and audio descrition of what is happening in between the actors/presenters talking.

My wife saw this on corination street but tonight Billy Connollys tracks across america had the same and I can see Billy is entering the carriage to play his banjo. Whilst an audio descrtion of this is appreciated by some I would like to turn it off.

How can I do this?

click on the option button of the remote control. You can than turn the subtitles off

It's not subtitles, they are off. As I said it is the audio description which describes what's happening when the actors are moving and not speaking.

I see that on the mobile app. Where subs are not available, btw.

We can have sub titles as well as the audio description but I would really like to have both off. Sub titles I have tried turning on and off but this has not changed the audio description.

So, is this on the mobile app or on your home TV?

It's on the home tv from the Swisscom 2.0 tv box

You are on the "Second language" choice of the Language menu.
Go to Options / Language / change it to "English (Dolby Digital)"

No it's not set to the second language it is set to English

Try switching it back and forth. On my TV, second language turns on the audio description and English turns it off. If you have the audio description on both then it's clearly out of the user's hands.

It seems to be illogically the opposite. If we select the second language then the audio description switches off. Well I am not sure I understand the logic but it's off that'll do for now.
