My archive is suddenly empty.

Hello

My archive with many folders is suddenly empty. The folders have also disappeared. However, I can move mails to the archive in one of the folders. But nothing still appears in the archive. It remains empty.

I should also mention that my account was full and deleting over a hundred mails didn’t help. I have now changed my subscription (to CHF 2.95). The archive is still empty.

Does anyone know a solution?

Thanks and regards

Does this occur in webmail or in a client?

If it is on the webmail, you could set up Outlook or something similar and test it there.

Thanks for the reply, It’s on the webmail, I don’t know anything else. I don’t know how to “set up Outlook or similar and test it there”. I am a simple Bluewin user and will soon be 77 years old. I would need very specific detailed steps for your suggestion.

the alternative to Outlook (paid) is Thunderbird which is free
Thunderbird - Free your inbox - Thunderbird

you first need to create a password specific to the email account you are using, this is done in the customer area
        My Swisscom > … More > E-Mail > Manage e-mail account > Settings > Set password

Then, in Thunderbird, create the e-mail account using this specific password. Swisscom recommends the IMAP protocol.
the procedure is explained in detail here, choose Windows or Mac OS and follow the instructions step by step
Configure your Bluewin e-mail account on your desktop/laptop [Private Clients]

DomiP I haven’t tried it. I didn’t actually want to leave bluewin, but to restore my lost archive. I didn’t realise from your reply that I could do it this way. Or am I wrong?

        Greetings Erwin

        • DomiP has responded to this post.

          slevik Hello Erwin,
with the instructions from @blackrider81 you are not leaving Bluewin, you are just using a programme on your computer to display your emails instead of webmail.

These usually show more than is only visible in webmail.

There is one point that has not been clarified for Webmail.

You know that to see the contents of the archive you have to click on the little arrow to the left of “Archives” to show the folders by year. Otherwise it appears completely empty!
