Gigaset Fusion alternative

  • Does anyone know of an alternative to the Gigaset Fusion, which is somehow no longer available?

I have a potential customer who stupidly wants a Sunrise Business connection (1. because of availability, Sunrise delivers 2500/100 Mbit/s, Swisscom only 70/30 Mbit/s and 2. because he has had very bad experiences with Swisscom…).

However, a Smart Bcon or something like that is out of the question. With the Sunrise subscription, he simply receives the SIP credentials for what I think are 10 phone numbers, but only 4 phones are currently planned. But he still needs a small PBX and Sunrise can’t offer it hosted somehow

A FreePBX is unnecessarily complex and I don’t want to install a FritzBox or something like that. Gigaset Fusion would meet my needs perfectly, but I can’t find the devices available anywhere

    • Black Mamba likes that.
    • @NilsL maybe you can convince them of SIP CALL they offer internet and telephony solutions instead of Sunrise (Sundown 😉)

It looks like you will be allowed to purchase a DECT base station separately. You should be able to find something that meets these requirements (e.g. VoiP). Plus a desk phone that also works as a DECT handset. Have a look around the Gigaset website.

Have a look at Grandstream PBX appliances and cordless Wi-Fi IP phones.

The difficulty is that it already needs basic PBX functions (call transfer, call hold, certainly 2 different answering machine announcements)

I’ll have to check with Sunrise 😑 to see if they also have a Smart Bcon-like product and what it would cost in terms of costs just to get Internet (and then a Smart Bcon connection via the copper line, then you would also have a failover for Internet or could save the 4G failover. With Sunrise I don’t trust the whole thing without failover, otherwise I know exactly that I have to go out at the stupidest times and in the end it’s nothing with the network but only the access).

As far as I know, iWay also offers Internet provider-independent telephony services in the business sector.
But I don’t know any details.
If you’re interested, you’ll have to do some more research yourself.

user109 That’s also an option. There are quite few hosted PBX offerings on the market. For example PBXes or 3CX, both are free for certain number of extensions. You just need SIP phones and/or SIP client apps installed on smartphones and you’re ready to go.

user109 If you’re going for rock bottom prices, there are even better options.

user109 SIP is a very mature technology. Most of the providers offer rock solid platforms. Dellmont that operates some 20 sub brands and offers wholesale prices even to consumers is very reliable.

If you want a reputable company behind the service, you need to be ready to pay a bit more. Swisscom does this very well at a still reasonable price.
