Problem with new forum and e-mail

I don’t know if I’m right here.

Since the changeover and renewal of Swisscom, most mails from the forum come in English or this message appears when calling up the forum via the bookmarks bar. Since the last update 20.11.2024 from Windows 11 to version: 24H2 there are always failures, also the private network on the PC with Windows 11 Pro no longer works.

You can change the language of the forum:
You can set the language of the community website at the bottom right (on the start page, scroll all the way down to the footer):

Please also set the browser to your desired language, then the website will automatically recognise it:

    Z. E.g. with Firefox:
Extras -> Settings -> General -> Language -> Language for displaying menus, messages and notifications from Firefox
Set your desired language in the drop-down menu on the left.

Please use this URL to access the forum: Welcome to the Swisscom Community

Thank you very much for your information, why the hell are these changes all the time, I have already done this with the language setting X times and removed the login via the bookmarks as well as with this new version. Before the programme change I never had these problems, but the programmers are world champions at making things worse.

The new software is not yet perfect, people are still working on it. There are still a lot of error messages that aren’t errors at all, as you can see from the duplicate posts here.

I can’t always understand why everything is always reprogrammed instead of improving what already exists. Perhaps it has to do with contracts, licences, suppliers and software that no longer exists and new programmers. The visual appearance sometimes needs to be updated, even if it is not always optimal, e.g. the many white areas and the default settings. Many things are simply “zeitgeist”.

I myself always delete the browser cache (or an extension of the browser does this) when I exit the browser (Ctrl-Shift-Del). So I have relatively few problems with websites. However, the Swisscom Community Site is currently reacting a little differently, slowly, with lots of (fake) error messages and sometimes not opening at all.

The email you show in your post comes from the new forum, by the way, which shows so-called successes (certain time in the forum, number of posts and likes, etc.). It’s just a gimmick for people who need it. You can set what you want to receive emails from the forum for:

Round profile button top right -> Settings-> Notifications
There you can set many things individually if you want to actively use the forum.

Unfortunately, the e-mail notifications are currently in English, even though the forum is set to German. This is known and will certainly be fixed.

The previous software came from a US company. Swisscom was probably not so important to them with their wishes. This is probably one of the reasons why Swisscom has said goodbye to the old software. The current one is from a European provider.

Incidentally, the new software is also used by other Swiss companies. For example Sunrise, Orell Füssli and SBB
That’s why I’m confident that the teething problems will be resolved. I used to be an admin and technician myself and set up forums and extensions. So I know that not everything always works straight away. There are things that run perfectly and others that need a few strokes until they run smoothly.

        Good things take time.

Maybe @TamaraA can/should say more about why the change was made.

        Addendum @opi

By the way, you can choose which notifications you want via which channel in the settings.
        https://community.swisscom.ch/settings

Web is above the bell icon.
I myself have deactivated practically all e-mail notifications. Except when someone writes to me privately. As I am on several times a day, the notifications within the community via the bell symbol are enough for me.

Good evening Stephan_76 the setting for notifications is a good idea because I keep checking the forum. Thank you!

Also, deleting the normal emails has worked for me, so far I haven’t received any more emails translated into English.
