myStrom WiFi Switch Zero does not connect to WiFi

  • Hello everyone

I recently bought 3 My Strom WiFi Switch Zero plugs from MyStrom with the idea of switching the lights in our house on or off.

Now I have the problem that these can’t be connected to the WLAN despite the My Strom app and Swisscom router?

    Can anyone give me tips??

    Settings, different approach or whatever.

    thanks in advance

As a test, try only setting WPA2 at 2.4GHz on the Internet box.

**WiFi router/gateway (constant WiFi/Internet connection, WPA2-Enterprise/Raduis is not supported)

      It should actually go smoothly.

Which Swisscom router do you have?

Didn’t you consciously or unconsciously turn off the 2.4Ghz WiFi there?

Once the apps have been downloaded on your cell phone and you have logged in, the whole thing works self-explanatory.

It is important that the MyStrom Switch is in a good WLAN area of the Internet box.

If possible, no complicated passwords with special characters, e.g. " * & % etc.

Set exactly like this WPA2 at 2.4GHz.

But unfortunately still nothing, i.e. no connection to the WiFi.

So just WPA 2 like in the picture below?

And you also tried a simple password as a test, i.e. without special characters, only upper and lower case letters and numbers and a _ or -.

I switched my 2.4 and 5.0 GHz individually so that you can give the WLAN 2.4 and 5.0 GHz different names and passwords.

Hi Danny, I had the same problem. My WiFi Switch Zero was still from Swisscom (Swisscom logo on the switch). If you are using these, they cannot be added without further ado. However, the problem can be solved in 5 minutes. New firmware must be loaded for the (old, Swisscom) switches:

      https://mystrom.ch/de/support/swisscom-smart-switch/

      My procedure:

      1. connect the switch to the (Swisscom router) - via the WPS function (press the button or the plus button on the router/switch).
      2. switch to the “Network” menu in the router’s control programme (https://internetbox.swisscom.ch/#login) and determine the IP address of the switch under “Device list”
      3. enter the IP address of the switch in a browser; a site opens where you can install the new firmware (see link above).
      4. the switch is immediately displayed in the app after installation.

      Cheers
