Archived emails

  • Hello, I just ran the ‘archive old messages’ function in my inbox. However, I don’t have an ‘archived emails’ folder visible under the trash can. Can someone please tell me where I can find the archived emails and how to open a new folder ‘archived emails’?

    • When archiving, an “Archive” folder is automatically created and, underneath, other folders with the years “2023”, “2022”, etc.

The archive folder will only be displayed after a site refresh of the browser

Yes, a browser refresh would have been enough 😉

But the main thing is that they are there 👍🏼

I don’t know if it’s also related to the browser. I didn’t have to do a refresh during my test.

I even have a YT video of it:

But an F5 certainly won’t do any harm.

And what’s important is that it worked for the person asking the question.

The question is also what you actually want to achieve with server-based archive folders.

They certainly don’t relieve the storage requirements of the server mailboxes and since the emails in the normal folders are sorted chronologically, it doesn’t really matter how long the “normal” listings go back in time.

I think the topic of mail archive is very relevant, but of course not directly on the mail servers, but in a local storage and you don’t need web mail for that, but a local mail program like Thunderbird or Outlook and/or a special mail anyway -Archive like Mailstore Home.

However, I wouldn’t actually want to invest any time in the topic of archiving emails directly on the original mail servers due to the lack of concrete benefits.
