So I think the idea of carrying out real user testing of every project before the introduction is very laudable and that includes moderation, which is absolutely great and also very time-consuming, and the niggles that have already been expressed here by my predecessors before you do it If you ever saw the new platform for the first time, I just think it’s typically “Bünzli-Swiss”.

Just don’t be so grumpy and believe not only in things getting worse, but also in new opportunities.

In any case, I would like to warmly congratulate the community team on this certainly effective test idea.

That may be true, or the ideas will probably be similar.

I think there is also a generational conflict between them

Whether “AI” improves the problem of searching for and finding existing questions and answers, which is one of the bigger problems in the community, would be a big step forward.

In any case, the current situation is not bad.

Hello everyone

Thank you for your feedback. It’s nice to see that our future mentors are so positive about AI. 😉

Yes, we are daring to experiment with automatic translation. However, we wouldn’t be doing this if AI hadn’t undergone such impressive developments in the last few months and years. It is clear to us: all technology has its pitfalls and risks. That’s why, for example, we are also preparing a glossary that the AI will access.

We are positive about the attempt to connect you linguistically more easily.

So far there have been surprisingly few reports about user testing. Let us hear from you and support us. 😊

Merci & kind regards

Tamara

Hello @TamaraA

I suspect that the users for whom this thread is intended are not the ones reporting here. It would be important to have new products tested by people for whom applications and devices are simply tools and not an end in themselves. The look and feel of the new BWM can hardly have been tested by users or they were not listened to. Then at least the default settings would probably be slightly different. To do this, you would have to ask the people who asked the most questions and not those who contributed the most to the forum.

It would be nice to have a ticketing system for error messages without the possibility of other users commenting.

We will see whether a technical translation via AI improves the understandability of the forum. In any case, the search doesn’t really contribute to finding a solution. On the one hand, the wording of the Q&A is sometimes very incomprehensible and contains many typographical errors. On the other hand, the search often finds a lot of superfluous things because the search terms are obviously linked with “or” instead of “and”. And otherwise: Better AI than ND 😉.

I think a gamification update will probably increase the quantity of posts rather than the quality.

And whether super users or mentors; The main thing is that there are no senior teachers.

Hi Tamara,

I also see the AI as positive, I have no reservations about it. And I think the call to test is great!

For me, the scheduled test date on a Tuesday, during the day, reserves availability for several hours, then simply a no-go for work-related reasons.

If the session were fixed to a 1-hour time slot, on an evening from 6 p.m. or on a Saturday throughout the day, the response rate would perhaps be greater.

Maybe you can limit the whole thing to 1 hour? If it’s during the week, maybe over lunch?

For most people here, it’s still free time and not working time when we’re in the forum 😉

Greetings, Thomas

@TamaraA

We’ll be home from our Finland vacation shortly beforehand and so it’s not entirely certain whether September 24th, 2024 will work out.

Thank you for the tip. For the record, each person only tests for 45 minutes in one of the following time slots:

  • 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m
  • 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m
  • 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m
  • 2:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m
  • 3 p.m. to 3 p.m

Would a slot fit there?

Best regards
Tamara
