Wireguard VPN

    My Swisscom router has a “unspecific VPN”. Would it be an effort for Swisscom to activate a Wireguard VPN. Wireguard is extremely faster than OpenVPN e.g. The people at Fritzbox have installed Wireguard as a standard VPN for some time.

    • The Swisscom Internet boxes currently only support L2TP and IKEv2 as VPN servers.

      It is not ruled out that WireGuard will be added as an additional variant in the future, but there are no concrete announcements or rollout dates from Swisscom yet.

      If you currently want to operate WireGuard or Open VPN servers on a Swisscom Internet connection, you can use an additional device in your own network, such as a Raspberry PI, a NAS, or an additional home router downstream of the Internet box.
