Centro Business 2.0 Firmware Bug

  • Hello everyone

A few days ago the new firmware 9.52.12 B16++ was rolled out. This apparently fixed a bug where an IPSEC VPN sporadically stopped working.

But now there is most likely a new bug that is worse.

IPSEC VPN in combination with pppoe passthrough connects, but practically no traffic passes through.

We have two such connections and both have the same phenomenon.

For connections without ppp passtrough (4 fixed IPs), the IPSEC tunnel works without any problems.

Does anyone know how or where you can report bugs to the Swisscom firmware?

The hotline doesn’t know anything and is easily overwhelmed by this problem.

    thank you

I used a Zywall USG40 with the latest version in the laboratory and configured it as a PPP passthrough behind the Centro Business 2.0. I then set up an IPSEC site to site connection to another location (not Zywall). Version 9.52.10 was installed on the Centro Business and a measurement with IPERF3 between the locations was around 50MB/s. I then carried out the firmware update on the Centro Business and with version 9.52.12 I had the same measurement results between the locations. I didn’t notice any performance losses in the VPN.

Can you send me the connection details and your contact number privately? I will arrange to contact you to check the matter.

      Thank you very much.

    Hello Stefano

    Thank you.

There are still old Zyxel USG60s connected to them (but with the latest firmware).

These then establish an S2S connection to a Checkpoint Firewall.

    Thank you for checking

    Greetings

    Hello TomTom66,
Can you please contact the hotline and ask the person to forward your request to the 2nd level via a ticket. We would be happy to take a look at it and try to analyze your concerns in more detail.

I will recreate your use case in our laboratory and try to find out whether I can identify a similar problem or the same problem.

    Kind regards
    Diogo Ferrario

PS: You are welcome to refer to this post in order to pass on your request as quickly as possible.

    Hello @StefanoC

    Hello @Diogo Ferrario

Thank you very much for your efforts!

We’ll put the problem on hold. I was able to solve it temporarily by resetting both routers and reconfiguring them. I also booted through the firewall again.

Now it seems to be running and is stable. I hope it stays that way.

Simply rebooting the modem and firewall didn’t do anything for us.

Maybe it would help if other customers contacted Euhc with a problem like this.

If I have any problems again, I would report back here.

Thank you again and have a nice weekend!

    Greetings

    Tom
