Prevention is even better than cure. I don’t know the problem with scratched displays, even though I have used the phones for up to 6 years and don’t use a case or a protective film. The only protective measure I take is to make sure that there are no other objects in my trouser bag or jacket pocket other than my smartphone.
Most smartphones have an oleophobic and anti-reflective coating. If you rub it with a paste, you might get rid of the scratch, but you’ll always end up with a smeared display, which reflects even more strongly in daylight. My tip is to always wear a good protective glass like the one from Belkin. They give a lifetime guarantee and if it is damaged you can simply get a new one for free via support 😉
