Central storage option not available anymore

Hello,

few days ago my Internet-box 2 stopped seeing USB drive (WD My Book), now I cannot access it either via my PC, or via other devices (I had SMB server used to play multimedia files on Apple TV).

Network overview says "No devices connected!" under USB section and description says that I can use USB port only to connect mobile device in case of internet failure.

Does it mean that USB storage is not supported anymore? Is there any other way to connect USB drive and make it visible to WLAN devices?

No the hard drive was simply removed from all models of internet box. the USB port is used to connect a smartphone in case of network failure.

As this feature is being removed from the new router firmware versions, have a look at the NAS offerings from Synology, Qnap and others.
