Swisscom has been broadcasting SRG channels in Full HD since mid-November 2022. In technical terms, this Full HD format is similar to a UHD format. To receive the channels with improved picture quality, all devices must therefore be UHD-capable, with a bandwidth of at least 33 Mbit/s available for download.
It needs three times more bandwidth than the HD signal. This can lead to picture problems in the following cases:
- an Internet-Box standard or plus is combined with a connection kit or WLAN
- an Internet-Box 2 or newer is used with a WLAN-Box 1 and/or a direct WLAN connection
- a Powerline Connection Kit is in use
How to fix the picture interference
You can use these solutions to solve the problem:
- Change the picture settings from “Best Quality” to “High Quality” (remote control button “Option” > “Picture Quality”).
- Use an Ethernet cable for a stable UHD connection
- Avoid using a UHD connection via connection kit and WLAN with an Internet-Box plus and standard.
- Avoid using a Powerline Connection Kit
- With an Internet-Box 2, switch to a WLAN-Box 2 or 3 and avoid a direct WLAN connection.
