Replay has changed the way we watch TV. Most of us fast forward ad breaks today, which has financial implications for TV channels. To ensure that Replay can continue to exist, the TV industry has agreed on a new common tariff (GT12) and new forms of advertising in time-delayed viewing (Replay advertising).
Replay advertising from October
As of 4 October 2022, all national and regional TV distributors such as Swisscom or Sunrise must implement the new agreement. Initially, the Replay adverts will only affect 19 TV channels.
For the time being, you will only see the adverts with an TV-Box from Swisscom. From mid-November you'll see them on all devices (smartphone, tablet, computer, laptop, Smart TV).
Avoiding Replay advertising
To make blue TV as enjoyable as possible despite Replay advertising, Swisscom is offering the Replay Comfort option for CHF 6.90/mth for blue TV M, L and X. You can then use ad-free Replay on 19 TV channels. You can also still fast-forward the usual commercials when watching recordings or Replay TV, with the option to skip ads on up to 80 additional channels at the click of a button.
If you'd like to enjoy your films and TV programmes without interruption or the need to fast forward, you can watch the content of well-known media libraries free of charge and without advertising with blue Play.
