Central storage
✔️ Activate central storage
You can save documents, photos and films centrally over the central storage feature and access them from all devices. To do so, connect a USB hard disk to your Internet-Box. You can access your data in the Windows Explorer by entering \INTERNETBOX-NAS.home or, in the case of Mac OS users in the "Finder" over "SHARES".
You can enjoy faster data transmission rates on Mac computers with the AFP protocol.
✔️ Activate data access aover the AFP protocol
❗ Aside from conventional access over the SMB protocol you can also activate the AFP protocol (Apple Filing Protocol). This is particularly recommended for Mac OS users, who would like to enjoy even faster data transmission rates. Once you activate the option, the Internet-Box for AFP access will also be displayed in the Mac Finder.
✔️ Activate password protection for central storageDefine a user name and password for protected access to your central storage.
❗ Protect your central storage with a password.
NotePlease note that while the media server function is activated your photos, music and videos on DLNA-ready devices remain available without password. Disable the media server function if you do not want this to happen.
