@Pat1223 Swisscom hasn’t said anything about this yet, hopefully it will be available soon.

“Attention: the blue TV app for Apple TV does not support in-app purchases or rentals on Apple TV.”
Video purchase and rental should appear as soon as Swisscom switches to TV provider mode at AppleTV and AndroidTV in Single Sign On (SSO) like these 2 existing competitors already providing their services.
5.- additional per tv or box!!! Unacceptable!!! No, but for the price we pay for a TV subscription with Swisscom it could still give us access to 2 or even 3 tv/boxes included before asking us for an additional 5.-… Swisscom asks for an additional 5.- to have a box extra bluetv I’m willing to, but asking for an extra 5.- to use the application on a box that doesn’t belong to them is bullshit!
Hi
For your information Swisscom asks you Fr 5.- per month for the additional TV signal this has nothing to do with an Apple TV box that you purchased from an Apple authorized reseller.
These are the same thing if you want an additional TV box from Swisscom you also pay for it and you add the 5 balls per month. In addition, the additional Swisscom TV box that you paid for also belongs to you.

For your information, no additional signal is sent by swisscom for access to the channel from the TV Box (Or swisscom TV for that matter).
This works in the same way as if you access online TV. It is a resource that is available on a server whether you access it or not and you only consult it.
The signal as you say is your Internet connection which you pay for separately.
So in this specific case, we are paying for a service that does not cost Swisscom more (If they want to prove us wrong, I am ready to dig into their account). We will therefore have to accept that dishonesty is there and that no one wants to recognize it.
I do not judge a person who decides to be dishonest, it is their right and it is not up to me to judge whether it is good or bad, on the other hand where there is a problem, it is when the person does not recognize him.
If you have any technical questions, as I see that your technical level is somewhat limited, don’t hesitate.
We must start from Swisscom’s reasoning:
They assume that the 1st stream and the TV box are included in the subscription anyway.
From the 2nd flow at 5.-/month, you also had to buy an additional box. Now with the blue TV app, you no longer need to buy a box. So it’s a certain saving for the customer.
It’s even more advantageous if you have a 3rd TV, since the 3rd stream with the blue TV app costs 0.-/month in addition. Unlike a 3rd TV box where you also had to buy the box + rent a 3rd stream for 5.-/month.
In short, you just have to think a little before calling it a scam.
I didn’t want to offend you, if I said that it was in all friendship so that I would suggest that to you
Friendship only blah blah blah!
because I saw that you had some shortcomings in the way Swisscom TV even works, but we can’t be good at everything.
Don’t worry, I know the subject very well but if you want to say that I have gaps then there are two of us, you and me!
Hi
Hello @Lapinou,
You say that the 3rd stream with an ott app is free, but for me this is not the case.
I had activated a 2nd stream on a Samsung TV with the ott app, and now I wanted to activate a 3rd on an Apple TV, but when activating the ott app it asks me to either deactivate the TV Samsung either activate a 3rd stream at 5Fr/month.
So I was wondering if there is a problem with my connection, or if there is a particular way to activate it?
Is there a place on the Swisscom website where it is clearly indicated that this 3rd stream is free with the ott app?
Thanks in advance,
Ludov
No, but I don’t care about your explanations, normal or not normal… I’m just saying that Swisscom has the means to see if a bluetv box or an Apple TV with a bluetv application is used in the same household on the same IP address… so I don’t see why I should pay 5.-/month to have access to Swisscom offers on a second TV in my home when I already pay an extremely high price for the subscription! I have an Apple TV with lots of apps like Netflix, Prime, Disney+ etc… with them I can watch them on all my TVs (not to mention that I can use them anywhere in the world) and with Swisscom I pay a lot for used it on one and only TV… it’s pitiful! Asking for a surplus even if it’s only 5.- it’s a scam….
Indeed, there are a few people (certainly without any technical or commercial knowledge) who try to find all the excuses in the world for Swisscom.
The fact is that for use on a screen, even if I want to use it once on my Apple TV and then on my box, it is included in the price of the basic subscription, but for a question that escapes us all (Certainly an organized theft from their client, but I’m not going to get too far ahead) Swisscom wants to get people to checkout who only want to use a screen and nothing more.
Netflix and everyone else understands, but Swisscom pretends not to understand it.
In addition, and this is much more serious, Swisscom offers TV on Apple TV to non-customers, but wants to pass the checkout by what we have committed the crime of being a customer.
Swisscom therefore invites us to go against these general conditions which stipulate that only one account per customer is used and to pretend to be a new customer. I don’t really understand the aspect of encouraging people to cheat the company in order to obtain a paid service.
In short, it’s very complicated to understand, but be sure I’ll do some research on my own
Hello everyone,
I connected the Bluetv app to my Apple TV, in particular because I had read via this subject that I will be able to define my Apple TV as the main stream, instead of my TV box, to avoid paying the 5 francs. additional. But that doesn’t seem to be the case, or I haven’t figured out how to do it. I admit that, like others, I find it petty on the part of Swisscom to charge for access via Apple TV, when it is not on computers or tablets. Even more so when only one device at a time (in my case) is used. Paying for several simultaneous streams ok. When this is not the case, it is unjustified profit, at the expense of the customer. Damage…
Thank you for your response, but unfortunately, we have already tried and I never managed to find a senior executive from swisscom, each time it was salespeople repeating speeches learned by heart.
I have never had the person responsible for the Apple TV application for example, despite my numerous requests.
Before speaking, you should find out what other people have done.
Failing to be able to get a response from Swisscom, it is our duty to inform the community of Swisscom’s dishonest practices and here is a good place. Don’t you think so?
It is our duty to prevent other customers from being fooled given that their communication is not correct.
Good morning,
for my part, I wrote this message on a public forum voluntarily:
- to possibly warn other users
- because expressing this kind of opinion publicly is more likely to have an effect on the company than contact by telephone (unfortunately…)
- because this is not a problem that I have personally, but which concerns all customers who prefer to use their own box or connected TV rather than that of Swisscom
- because the Swisscom hotline staff could not have done anything other than possibly pass on the information. Which probably wouldn’t have done much good.
