CGNAT Opt-out

Hello everyone

I’m currently setting up an FTP server/NAS at home with a Raspberry PI as well as an old laptop that will serve as a TS3 and Plex server.

However, due to the CGNAT, it is not possible for me to set the port forwardings manually (it sometimes works with the automatic rules, but not with all services and sometimes has its problems).

I called once a while ago, but the problem didn’t quite go through and they wanted to recommend a new router. When I (tried to) explain the problem, I was told that you can only have a fixed IP as a business customer.

Is there a solution to this or do I just have to call support every day?

Thank you very much for any help now,

Greetings

This has nothing to do with a fixed IP; you actually only get one from Swisscom as a business customer.

All you have to do is have your Anschluss “exempt” from the CGNAT. This should be possible via the helpdesk 0800 800 800 and if the supporter doesn’t know what CGNAT is, then you have to be persistent and request 2nd level support.

@ThomasS can you record this and pass it on to the appropriate place? In Kundencenter there should be another menu item that switches CGNAT on/off.

Thanks for the input, I put this up as an idea internally, but I can’t promise anything.
