Cancellation of blue max subscription

  • Hello

I would like to cancel my blue max subscription in good time.

Unfortunately, there is no way to log in on the Swisscom bluewin website as to how you can cancel blue max. You meander around the page and can only order the service but cannot unsubscribe. That’s pretty annoying. Or does the termination have to be made in writing by post?

    Thanks for a helpful answer.

    Best regards

    Paola

Thanks for the tip, but I don’t want to cancel the entire Swisscom TV offer, just the pay-TV blue max (formerly Teleclub). This has to go online too.

The Swisscom website is really poorly designed and is very consumer-unfriendly when it comes to canceling such products. You can subscribe x times on the site but you cannot cancel the products.

I canceled my blue Max trial subscription (3 months free promotion valid until January 31, 2023) on January 31, 2023. Now I have to pay over CHF 50 in termination fees. I don’t agree with that. On the phone at the end of October I was told that I could cancel it via Swisscombox. Now I found out that it is only possible via myswisscom. Annoying. Experience with it?

@Boveipliold23 Additional subscriptions in the TV area can be canceled in MySwisscom by going to “Your products”, then “TV”, then scrolling down and clicking on “Adjust options”. There should be a check mark next to the additional package in question. You have to remove this and go to “continue”. If you cancel on time there shouldn’t be a cancellation fee, who told you that?

According to the email from the contact center, I have to pay a cancellation fee of 57.17. Since the trial subscription is only valid for 3 months and can therefore be canceled free of charge at the end of the trial subscription, I don’t understand why the minimum term of 6 months should apply to me. I’ll be surprised by what’s on the bill. Thank you!

Blue Max has a minimum contract period of 6 months. Even if this is extremely unfriendly these days, Swisscom continues to do this. It’s nice that you got 3 months free, but that doesn’t change the minimum contract period. Effectively you only got a 50% discount for 6 months, since you have to pay in full for the other 3 months. Swisscom actually always has this promo.

If you want to leave earlier, Swisscom will simply charge you for the missing time and you will no longer be able to watch.

        For this reason:

It’s better to wait, watch the content of Blue Max and cancel in good time after 4.5 months (cancellation period 1 month)

@Robot Exactly, what you show in the picture is the normal process, one month free. Minimum term: 6 months. 1 month free. This is about a 3-month trial subscription, but in my experience with such trial subscriptions it has nothing to do with a minimum term for the normal subscription. As already written above, I would really call 0800 800800 and clarify this. Of course, we as customers, who do not have access to the dossier, cannot do that.

Maybe I misunderstood that, I’ll put it another way:

I was offered 3 months of Blue Max for free (as a promo), but I had to pay in full for the remaining three months. The minimum contract period is in any case 6 months. Hence the note that it is actually not free but half price calculated over 6 months.

The customer may have thought/understood that it was on trial (which, as far as I know, doesn’t exist). In fact, it’s three months free and three months fully paid. This is the normal promo.

I’ve never heard of a free month in connection with Blue Max. Even if this were the case, the minimum contract period would not change; it will remain 6 months in any case.

Actually a scandal compared to streaming services that you can cancel at any time up to the last day (even Sky Cinema, Blue Max’s partner).

Hopefully we will read here what it really was like.

@Robot That would make more sense to me, but it doesn’t correspond to what he described. Otherwise, I’m completely with you and I’m also excited to see what comes of it.

Thank you for your answers. Yes, of course, I will be happy to keep you updated.

It is now clear to me based on your answers that the normal minimum term of 6 months also applies to this 3-month promo subscription. But I would never have signed a contract like that. It all depends on what I was told on the phone when I was sold this promo. I am a long-time customer etc. and Swisscom is offering 3 months of bluemax free as a gift. Nothing about minimum term. I don’t read any AGS’s to see what it looks like after 3 months.

There is nothing about the minimum term in the confirmation email from Swisscom. I also have no knowledge of the terms and conditions or minimum term for this telephone promo. The person on the phone said that it was even possible to cancel using TV-Box once it had expired. But I really couldn’t do that.

This promo just leaves a bad aftertaste. It’s a shame for Swisscom’s image.
