It could be that you have given the devices a fixed IP address with 192.168.1.x, because the guest WiFi has a different IP address that has nothing to do with 192.168.1.x.
This is the advantage of the guest WiFi that you cannot use it to access your own network.
Installationen, Netzwerk, Internet, Computertechnik, OS Windows, Apple und Linux.
I don’t have to set anything special on the smartphone, just connect the guest WiFi as usual, i.e.
- Activate/set up guest WiFi on the IB3
- Select the guest WiFi from the available networks on your smartphone
- Enter the guest WiFi password
Do you have another device (tablet, laptop,…) available to test the guest WiFi? This way you could at least triage whether the problem is with the end device or the IB/WB.
And in the “normal” WLAN of the IB/WB you have no problem with Internet access with these devices?
Have you restarted the IB and WB yet?
Do you have any other devices in the network that run their own DHCP server?
What kind of values does the laptop receive in the guest WLAN from the DHCP server (IP, gateway, subnet mask,…) -> queryable with ipconfig /all via CMD or PS.
-Normal WLAN works without any problems with all devices, regardless of whether they are connected on the ground floor via WLAN-Box or in the basement directly via IB2
-All devices have been restarted several times
-I am not aware that other devices have their own DHCP server
I can test -Ipconfig with an external laptop next week because my desktop doesn’t have WiFi…
Good evening, today I tried again in the basement (where the IB2 is) to connect to the guest WiFi with my smartphone and now it worked straight away😳
And of course it doesn’t work in the living room via the WLAN-Box2 with the same guest WLAN…
But that suggests that something must be configured incorrectly? Since you can hardly configure anything, I’m still wondering where the error lies?
@POGO 1104: Hello, to be honest, without understanding exactly what it’s about, I could imagine that that’s where the problem lies…
I use a switch from Zyxel the GS1900 series which is between IB2 and WB2. Right👍
As I understand it, the VLAN supports.
But I have no experience with this yet! Can you explain this to me or tell me where I can find the necessary information?
Thanks and greetings,
