  • Does the “foot” ring on the box have a function or can it be removed.

    • Cooling is important, so as @POGO 1104 already said:

      Laying it on its side and thus covering the stamped cooling grilles is a no-go, but otherwise the position can be varied a little, for example turning it by 90 degrees so that the LAN ports are not facing backwards, but facing upwards.

    The ring is only used for stability.

    For example, there is now an additional installation kit for the IB3 in a control cabinet, where, among other things, the ring must first be removed.

    The ring also has the function of preventing the device from being placed horizontally.

    .....don't think of putting the router on its side!
