Change devices

Connected devices:

The following smartphones, tablets, computers or TV applications are connected to your TV subscription. You can register a maximum of 5 devices at the same time.* If you no longer want a device to have access to your TV subscription, you can remove it here.

Please note: Once 5 devices are connected, you can switch 3 devices within 90 days.

Question: Why can you only change 3 devices within 90 days? That would be completely nonsensical these days, as technical progress means people are constantly changing iPhones, iPads, etc.!

Dane for the answer.

This is to prevent you from distributing your account among your extended family or making it publicly available.
The thing with the 5 and 3 is not taken that seriously, as far as I discovered. But at some point it gets blocked.

The thing about the 5 devices is to be understood.

But how many devices do you buy per month?

By the way, notebooks are not considered mobile devices. Therefore 5 natels/tablet are usually sufficient.

In principle it works, but the Swisscom system of device management within a subscription is actually too complicated compared to other countries, is customer-unfriendly and occasionally leads to unexpected problems for the customer.

It would be nice if we measured ourselves more against the international streaming providers and simplified the whole issue for customers on the Swisscom side.

Max. 5 devices is still okay, but then change a maximum of 3 within 3 months…

You have to come up with an idea like that first…

Who buys more than 3 new devices within this time? And as already mentioned, it serves to prevent abuse. You can only compare this with the international streaming providers to a limited extent, as they are based on a different business model.

It’s not about that at all. For example, I watched Swiss TV on the PC with 2 browsers and I had already “used up” 2 of the 5 devices! You should be able to manage these 5 devices yourself without any restrictions….

I have exactly the same problem too. Except that we log out of the PC if we no longer want to watch TV Air. But somehow it is saved by Swisscom and presto we have assigned 5 accounts even though that is not true at all. At least you should be able to do it in such a way that one or two accounts on the customer account can be deleted and they can be assigned again straight away. In my opinion, the long waiting time is a very, very bad solution that no one benefits from.

Yes, Swisscom benefits from this because it prevents the usual “Netflix abuse”.

From a business perspective, this only works if these restrictions either sell more new inOne Home subscriptions or increase customer loyalty for existing subscriptions.

Everyone can answer the question of whether this can be achieved with the current device registration process.

Is there now a way to reset this nonsensical, customer-unfriendly 90 day limit? Maybe through customer service?

We have to wait until mid-September to replace a defective iPad with the Blue TV app and can no longer register any devices because the Swisscom system thinks that 3 devices have already been registered in the last 3 months; However, these included two browsers (Safari) which have to be registered again every time after an update and a smartphone which was inexplicably logged out by Swisscom. A customer-friendly solution would be really desirable!

A problem that cannot currently be solved often also contains an unexpected opportunity.

For example, you could also test the other providers on the CH IPTV market, at least on the device temporarily excluded from blue TV.

I’ve just done this myself with Teleboy Max, you can be registered for the big screen with any number of devices, whether mobile or Apple TV boxes, you can never use more than a maximum of 5 devices at the same time within the subscription.

However, I would like to warn you about a risk that is not entirely obvious; it could be that in the future you will use more Teleboy than blue TV…

At least that’s currently the case for me, because on the big screen via the Apple TV box the image from the channels that have switched to Full HD 1080P resolution is simply much better than the slightly blurry 720P image from blue TV, which has this quality upgrade Unfortunately, he has been sleeping for over a year now…

The fact that you can use Teleboy etc for free is all well and good, BUT: I can’t access everything that I have saved on my Blue TV. So 4das is not a solution either. It would simply be better if you could replace the devices you no longer use with others without having to wait long. A 24 hour update would still be acceptable, but not this long waiting time - which is also very illogical.

@eskuba ok, so you only have the time to “sit out” and repeatedly “harass” the hotline and express your displeasure there. All proposed alternatives logically have a catch, but in my view they are not insurmountable. All you have to do is move, it’s definitely easier than hoping that this “3 devices/90 days rule” will be changed within Frist that is useful for you 😉

The problem still exists. My Eltern got stuck when they bought two new phones and connected them. Something went wrong and new customizations were blocked.

Customer service was unable to help over the phone. A supervisor was not available. When I tried again 5 minutes later the lock was gone…
