The Swisscom Box must be free-standing so that it can hear the command from all sides.

Nope. not necessarily. For me the box is stuck to the back of the TV between the TV and the wall. Functions. Always responds. (even always unexpected - but that’s another topic….)

But Siri also has at least a 5-10 year lead in development over Swisscom.

I have the feeling that Swisscom is on the back burner when it comes to the further development of speech recognition…

I operate the radio function using voice commands and that’s a bit tedious because the box doesn’t understand me well or the voice commands are not stored or are even wrong 😑

Why does Swisscom sell a voice-controlled box that doesn’t yet work properly? Apple Siri is much better.

As already mentioned, Apple is many years ahead. In addition, the goal was never to achieve the functionality of Siri, but rather only a rudimentary control of TV and MyStrom Home products.

@dr_tobi

I’ve only been using the remote control for voice commands for a long time, with the Micro from the TV-Box many factors play a role in ensuring that it works properly (ambient noise, volume and direction of speech).

Installationen, Netzwerk, Internet, Computertechnik, OS Windows, Apple und Linux.

What did you promise yourself? It will certainly get better in the future, but the box will probably not have the scope of Google, Amazon or Apple, but that was never the goal.
