Embarrassing, embarrassing - how communication is going sour for a communications company…

And even more embarrassing - she didn’t learn from similar incidents in the past…

@DomiP, @hed on the subject of password managers: I would no longer rely on an integrated solution from Swisscom. There are enough good alternatives that have been on the market for a long time.

My favorites are also KeePass and Lastpass. Both are free and available on multiple platforms.

@marcus yes, it can be. Swisscom has been sending me the invoice as a PDF directly into Docsafe for years. Apparently I set it up that way. I’m curious to see whether Swisscom will work out an alternative. For documents it would generally not be a problem to pimp myCloud a bit.

So I’ve now exported the documents from DocSafe, unfortunately the subfolders don’t come along correctly. But the export was complete. Now I have imported everything into the Finder in the Mac, assign tags and you can also leave comments. I need it locally, otherwise you could also use iCloud.

It would be great if there was a transfer service where the data could be automatically moved from Docsafe to MyCloud.

We know it from Google Play Music and YouTube Music, for example: press a button, tracks are copied, and everything is now available again.

When downloading the documents, they all have the current date on which the download was started…. 😡

Likewise, the org. File names and not those assigned in Docksafe are used, as far as I can see.

For everyone who has installed the desktop app.

It must be deleted manually from Autostart in Windows 10, otherwise it will try to install when starting. Uninstalling is not enough.

Then search for docsafe on the PC and delete the rest.

This is of course very unfortunate. For me it simply cut off the names where I had a ‘/’ in the name. Otherwise it sucked down correctly. But on DocSafe you also have entry and due dates. All of that is lost. It would have been a really great thing, but it’s a shame that there’s no real replacement.

@danymitchell then you’ve already learned something again: “/” are never used in file names, you don’t do that! 😉

Is a “leftover” from earlier times, but still applies today. I also managed to name a file with *. I then wanted to delete them with del * and was then allowed to ask the admin to retrieve the last data backup because my entire directory was empty…

Mac has absolutely no problem with the ‘/’… I didn’t consciously enter it in the file name, but in the description field (although it’s clear that the file name is behind it).

@danymitchell basically there are two types of people:

  • Unix
  • DOS

(It’s debatable who is better off or better now, but I would say that Unix is better and more powerful - especially when it comes to the file name storm 😉 )

Have you had experience with the Mac? It doesn’t really matter, it’s usually not a Mac at the other end, but rather Unix, Linux or Windows. 😉
