WIFI network not detected

  • Good morning,

I just changed router, internet box 3 IP. If I want to connect wirelessly with my laptop, my WiFi network is not detected. I see those of my neighbors but not mine. How to solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance.

    • Hi @Lutzauffie13

I may have an idea based on the fact that you changed the hardware, but kept the same network identifiers.

Try going to the laptop’s Wifi Settings and looking for Manage Known Networks.

Find the name of the network that was used with the router before and tell it to Forget it.

Then restarts a search for available WiFi networks.

This is the way with Win10, you will have to find the equivalent if you have another OS.

    Good morning,

For your information, I also have an IB 3 and on my Acer PC, my wifi is not detected, while that of my neighbors is.

And my other machines find my wifi

    I know weird!!

    Good day

    Greetings

    @“x”#989864and @Tubelectroniks,

Lutzauffie, you are the initiator of the post created on Tuesday, and you are not giving any news, it is because you are not in a hurry…

and you Tubelectronic, you don’t have time to make the modification on your router to test even though it takes less than 5 minutes.

Except you have time to write here…

The two of you are having a great time with your WIFI…

Update your PC, mobile and tablet machines to the hardware level by changing them to the most recent, it will work too!

If you don’t have time to follow your own posts and messages, don’t waste our time!

    Good evening

    I just took the test

by changing the channel to 2.4 and 5 GHz

But I still can’t see my WiFi

Thank you to the contributors for your draft solution and for your active participation in the forums

For my part I just pointed out that I also had this type of problem.

and that the person who made the request is not alone, that’s all.

The Acer PC is not 3 years old

And my Bios is up to date

I will wait for a firmware change.

    Good evening

    And thank you all

    Bye

How aggressive. Just FYI, I posted Tuesday because it’s my day off. Afterwards, I work and with Covid we are in good shape. So after work, shopping for my elders etc etc, I no longer had the courage to continue trying to resolve my problem. Plus, I still have quite a few flight hours. It’s not that I’m not eager or interested. I’ll try again tomorrow. Sorry to waste some people’s time. If I manage to find a solution, I will be sure to let you know. Have a nice weekend

Okay, I tried again and it still doesn’t work. On the other hand, I have to telework from Monday, I connected the work laptop with the cable and it didn’t work. So, I removed the cable to connect to WiFi via my iPhone even though it didn’t suit me too much and then surprise, my WiFi network appeared and everything works very well. So the problem is with my laptop but what to do I still don’t know. If anyone has an idea, I’ll take it. Have a nice weekend.

Hello, my son is having the same problem as Lutzauffie13, the basic controls (drivers and device manager) are OK. The neighbors’ networks are visible but not his although he can connect his Android phone and another PC???

We will try the last solution proposed by DanielID (forgotten) and we will get back to you. If in the meantime someone. we have another idea, we’re interested 😉

    Good morning,

DanielD’s solution should be tried first.

Otherwise the only idea that comes to mind is the following:

Your son’s PC would not support 5 GHz wifi but only 2.4 GHz.
But this would assume that you have disabled 2.4 GHz in the Internet box.

This makes several assumptions. It’s not the best idea. But you asked if we have other ideas….

    Good day.

    Cordialement, Prelude

Well seen, but from other devices it sees both… (2.4 and 5 GHz) honestly I have trouble understanding. We will also try on my Swisscom BOX to see if it is linked to its configuration.

    I’ll keep you informed
