No worries ^^
If ever, CB2.0 ONLY supports hardware VPN…
So forced to do site to site with another CB2.0 or a firewall which manages the VPN.
And to simplify the configs and not change them in the long term, you would also need to create a dyndns account with 2 users on it to reference and match your IP addresses.

Good evening @RSA,
You say that CB2.0 only supports hardware VPN (I don’t know what the difference is between hardware and software VPN…) that means that I won’t be able to create a connection from my internet box 2 to CB2 .0 via a VPN?
Thank you in advance and have a good evening.
Greetings,
Alexander
Hello @RSA
I don’t know if this post is still open, but I’ll give it a try.
I have a bit of the same problem as RAM256, namely a VPN connection for one of my clients:
the client in question has just purchased a Mac mini (they are all on Macs in this office) to centralize their documents.
Internally, no problemo.
But they would like to be able to connect to this Mac mini from outside in order to telework on it, via a VPN.
Unfortunately, they have a CB 2 and people likely to connect to it will do so from potentially anywhere (home, train, Starbucks, etc.)
Software version: 9.50.04
Is there a solution??
THANKS
Stefan
Hello everyone,
I need to set up VPN access for someone I know.
The person in question, who works in an office with half a dozen people, has just purchased a Mac mini (they are all on Macs in this office) to centralize their documents.
Internally, no problemo, of course.
But they would like to be able to connect to this Mac mini from outside in order to telework from the documents stored there, via a VPN.
And people likely to connect to it will do so from potentially everywhere (home, train, Starbucks, etc.)
Software version: 9.50.04
Model No.: ST6840
Is there a solution??
Thanks in advance
Stefan
thanks for the contribution
This cannot be achieved with the Centro Business (or CB2)
The web GUI talks about a VPN, but this cannot be used for client access.
Possible: install a remote access client such as TeamViewer for the client.
It is simple to use and works reliably in almost all circumstances.
Or run a VPN server on the PC (Mac) and configure the appropriate port forwarding on the Centro Business (or CB2). Not recommended in this situation, however, as it is error-prone and cumbersome.
In some circumstances, a “normal” Internet connection is sufficient for the client.
The Internet-Box has a built-in VPN server, with DynDNS also on board.
A VPN connection is only possible if the client (e.g. IP: 192.168.2.1) is on a different network than the server ((router) 192.168.1.1).
To test: connect the computer with the mobile hotspot or your mobile phone (tethering) to the mobile network and use a different IP range from that of your local network.

Configure VPN on your device
choose the Mac OS tab
In network settings, add a new connection and choose VPN as the connection. In the VPN type “L2TP via IPSec”, enter the name of your choice for the new VPN connection.
Then follow the steps shown in the images:
- Transfer the name or, if necessary, the IP address from the Internet-Box web portal. We advise you to always choose a fixed DynDNS account as your server address!
- Transfer the username VPN from the Internet-Box web portal.
- Click on “Authentication settings…” to make further entries and transfer the VPN password you defined from the Internet-Box web portal.
- Transfer your personal key “VPN Shared Secret” and confirm the entry. Click “Connect” to test the entered data. Tip: Activate the VPN status display to be able to manage the VPN connection at any time via the menu bar.

Thank you @Black Mamba
I’m on point 4, about the “shared secret”.
Where in the Internet-Box web portal can I inform this pwd of the “shared secret”???
THANKS
Without filling in the Shared Secret field, it seems that my VPN setting can connect to CB2.0 (via the noip.com service to maintain a DNS name), because I have an error message that appears on the computer on which I test the VPN connection on the remote CB2.0:
“The IPsec shared secret is missing. Check your settings and try to reconnect.”
This seems to mean that he can contact CB2.0, but since he has no shared Secret to communicate, it fails.
What do you say??
Thanks in advance.
Hello
I’m at point 4, about the “shared secret”.
Where on the Internet-Box web portal can I inform this pwd of the “shared secret”???
Not included the company has an internet-Box or the Centro Business 2???
To work remotely with the company’s VPN, it must give you the name of the VPN and the passwords, otherwise no connection.

Hello @Doremi
The company has a CB2.0
And it’s me who is trying to configure it to be able to install a VPN in this box.
I’m almost there, apparently, because when trying to connect from outside, all I need to do is enter the “Shared secret” in my VPN client config. But I don’t know where in CB2.0 to give this information????
THANKS
Thanks @Doremi
but I don’t want to make a site-to-site VPN but a VPN that can be reached from anywhere!
and yes, I’m trying to configure the VPN on the company’s CB2.0 (to reach the documents on the Mac mini) then, once that’s done, all I have to do is give access VPN to various employees who will need it to work remotely.
THANKS
