Internet problem via ethernet cable with Windows 10

  • Helllo,

I had to unplug the internet cable between the router and the PC and the WIFI connected.

Now that I have reconnected the cable I can no longer pass the connection directly via the cable. The connection remains on WI-FI. I go around in circles to reactivate the Ethernet cable connection. I did RESET but nothing happened.

And then it asks me for a Windows password. What does this correspond to?

Internet.jpgThank you in advance for your suggestions so that I can re-use my cable connection.

@Doremi this is not the GUI of a router but the Windows settings.![](https://community.swisscom.ch/html/@56675CEE52B2535AADE735290D6EE556/images/smilies/ smiling.png “”)

@Diablotin, I advise you to first delete all remote and broadband connections from your list.

In the WiFi settings, in the list of networks that your PC knows, you delete the “name” of your WiFi at home (sorry I don’t remember the path by heart).

Then you restart your PC and reconnect to WiFi.

    Normally it should be fine:grin_smile:

      Hello again,

Ah well, I spent a few days looking for and testing various solutions without success. I even bought a new Cat 6 type cable to test and that’s when I noticed that I had reconnected my ethernet cable in the wrong place on the router 🙂, Tss Tss not serious all that lol.

Here I am again with good transfer rates 🙂

      Thank you for your suggestions,
