Hello everyone,

We may be installing optical fiber in our village and I would like to have opinions from people who have already had optical fiber for several months or even years…

1. can you tell me if you have any cutting problems when surfing or other things? And

2 can you tell me if the quality of the TV image is better than with “a copper line” and if you have

image freezes or others?

3 if you have Any other problem… If you regret having fiber optic etc….

I am in Lausanne with a 1 GB fiber subscription

1) no problem, excellent download and upload transfer rate at 945 mega on average

2) yes HD+ UHD++ quality, no cutting

3) no regrets, only satisfaction.

I was using a coaxial cable network with a cable operator before taking optical fiber, so I don’t know the difference on TV between copper cable and optical fiber for TV.

The big difference for me was having the TV box with recordings and Replays.

There is no difference in image quality. There may possibly be reception quality problems, but if it works the image quality is the same.

Indeed, we are used to radio, where there can be more or less interference, depending on the quality of reception. In digital it does not work in the same way, there can sometimes be mosaics or no reception, but once the image is displayed it is identical.

So at home, in copper, I display HD and UHD without problem (especially Netflix), and therefore there should not be the slightest difference in quality with optical fiber.
