One more thing on the subject of regression: I have a regression, but I’m not 100% sure whether I’ve ever tried SIP on my WLAN with the Sony on Android 7.

In this respect, it is quite conceivable that this is not a regression in the Internetbox Plus firmware.

Hello

After installing the firmware it works
- VPN no more
- the static IPs are still partially lost
- The Huawai Umts stick is still not recognized

Everything also reported via the error link.

Hello everyone

VPN doesn’t work even after a restart. However, I can now only test via an Android phone (of course without a ‘local’ WiFi connection). I don’t know when I was last connected via my cell phone. I was connected to the Windows 10 PC via VPN for the update (could this play a role?). After the update, the error message was (essentially) that the remote computer terminated the connection before the connection could be completed (the same as when switching from IBP to IB2, but ‘playing’ with the parameters of the network connection had no effect this time brought).

By the way, VPN doesn’t work either if I directly use the IP that the IB specifies.

@swissbeetle

The static IPs that are assigned directly to the devices work (of course). Only those who

I assign in the IB, some of them are lost when restarting. Unfortunately, I also have devices where I cannot set a static IP on the device itself, but I need it for smart home applications.

Hello

Old firmware installed again: VPN works again (via Android phone).

At the moment I’m leaving it like that because no VPN is a no go for me because of Samrthome.

@Anonymous

If there is a need for the search, I can temporarily do it again

Install beta firmware.

Would it be possible here and/or on [https://www.swisscom.ch/de/privatkunden/hilfe/internet/firmware-aktualisierungen-fuer-ihre-internet-box/beta-version.html](https:/ /www.swisscom.ch/de/privatkunden/hilfe/internet/firmware-updates-for-your-internet-box/beta-version.html) whatever Provide instructions for rollbacks? Ideally these instructions would contain WLAN password(s) and SSID(s) - I don’t care about the rest at the moment.

With rollforward = upgrade, I always expect that settings will be migrated.

With rollback - and especially if it has two dependent modules (app -> router) - I would always expect special things that go beyond “iron the currently productive variant over it”. ([https://www.swisscom.ch/de/privatkunden/hilfe/internet/firmware-aktualisierungen-fuer-ihre-internet-box.html](https://www.swisscom.ch/de/privatkunden/hilfe /internet/firmware-updates-for-your-internet-box.html))

@daffy2

To rollback, make a backup on the PC

Install the old version

From Kundencenter you can restore the old configuration and restore the backup to the IB

I can’t believe it myself, but the beta firmware is causing Ethernet(!) link-level problems with a device. In this day and age, _that_ shouldn’t really be a problem anymore.

The device below can probably also be found via “Ethernet KY-688” or “Ethernet KY-888”, you never know with the relabeled versions. But I definitely have the “thing” I’ll link to below.

After a rollback to latest-production-release / IBplus, I am live again with the device.

My apologies for the English - I have a language problem in this domain 😕

[the following reports via link]

A Gigabit Ethernet adapter via USB3 (hereinafter “USB3 device”) no longer gets a _physical_ link with the _beta_ firmware “Router Firmware (08.05.06)” (with Windows 10 Home).

This is clearly a regression of this very firmware compared to the current productive version (), which has no problems.

Steps:
- environment = Windows 10 Home
- Laptop, WiFi explicitly disabled to avoid cross effects of Windows 10 WiFi / Ethernet link management
- unplug USB3 device

- install “Router Firmware (08.05.06)” - router + application
//ibplus fully upgraded
- turn on Swisscom TV 2.0 (via Swisscom Box)
//100 MBit link established, Swisscom TV works, picture shows
- plug USB3 device into laptop
- make sure that Ethernet cable is seated well
//exp: Ethernet link established
//act: rapid cycling between link up, link down
- unplug USB3 device

- install “Router Firmware 08.01.08 / 08.01.00” - router + application
//ibplus fully rolled back to released production
- turn on Swisscom TV 2.0 (via Swisscom Box)
//100 MBit link established, Swisscom TV works, picture shows
- plug USB3 device into laptop
- make sure that Ethernet cable is seated well
//exp: Ethernet link established
//act: Ethernet link established
//act: IP connection works well

Usb3 device = [https://www.aliexpress.com/item/High-speed-3-Ports-USB-3-0-Hub-10-100-1000-Mbps-To-RJ45-Gigabit-Ethernet/32633999444.html] (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/High-speed-3-Ports-USB-3-0-Hub-10-100-1000-Mbps-To-RJ45-Gigabit-Ethernet/32633999444.html)

There’s a Realtek 8153 in there - that’s one of the “good ones”.

Current drivers from Realteak are also on it, but shouldn’t actually play a role at the link management level.

@daffy2

Does the thing already have a fixed IP that is used by another device?

Please check

New fixed IP assigned for the USB Ethernet

Unplug USB 3 and plug it back in

Windows will probably see a new connection, e.g. Ethernet 3

Then Windows 10 Sharing Center re-releases the USB

The same with internet security

Please add a picture

Optionally, you can delete the device’s USB driver in the device manager and restart it

@Anonymous When is a responsive view possible for the smartphone? There is already one for the IBlight. 😉 Would be helpful for us technicians in many ways 😉

Hello @MichelB

I definitely don’t have any spaces in the password but ‘of course’ I have some other special characters like

$, # etc. (the same applies to the key). Is there possibly a problem with these too?

IBplus assigned itself the only fixed IP - for the Swisscom TV 2.0 box.

After a reset many months ago, I have the following deltas in the configuration of the original delivery state of an IBplus:
- WiFi passwords (2x)
- SSIDs (2x)

In addition, and especially when it comes to DHCP, IBplus is the sole lord and master of the entire world.

End of terrain, all in the spirit of “I don’t feel like playing around with configuration anymore”.

The USB device worked before the beta, and worked after the beta (after rollback to latest release). There were no changes, anywhere, in between - not even Windows Update.

As far as I remember, I didn’t have to release anything when I initially installed the USB3 stick (IBplus latest release) - so I expect the same with the IBplus current beta. I’m also not entirely sure what you want to see in a screenshot - that the USB3 NIC is set to “cable unplugged”? (I don’t have access to the device right now.)

Maybe as a hint: The Ethernet cable is an alternative path to the IBplus. I also configured WiFi to the same IBplus - but I had explicitly turned that off in the laptop for the tests above.

The only minimal option I have for security is Microsoft Defender (more or less as a forced blessing via Windows 10 Home) - beyond that, I don’t have any useless “things” messing around with me that just make everything unstable and slow, but don’t offer any (additional) protection .

For me, VPN access via my Nexus 5x including making calls works without any problems, but I have another problem which I have already reported via the error link.

Here’s the problem:

Since updating the IB2, I can no longer access “My Files” from outside with the Internetbox app.

The tile is grayed out and when you tap it you get the following error message: “A connection error has occurred”

If I activate the VPN on my NEXUS 5x then my files can be accessed.

Before the IB2 update, access to “My Files” was possible from outside my network, even without a VPN connection.

Everything on the IB2 is activated, as before.

Reset + several restarts of the IB 2 were already done for testing plus reinstallation of the IB APP on my Nexus 5x, but it still doesn’t work anymore.

Another error that I haven’t reported yet is that since the update I have occasionally been unable to access the IB2 menu. The usual login page appears and after entering the password there is a box with red writing that says the following: “No connection to the Internet box possible!”

Somehow I can’t agree, because the IB2 login page is displayed.

If I then click on “Login” 2-4 times, it suddenly works and you are in IB2.

This wasn’t the case before the update.

Which browser do you use? Any add blockers installed? Which virus scanner do you use?

System clean so far (no malware)? Can you also validate the access problem with another computer (with a different software installation)?

Hello everyone,

While looking for debug information I came across a series of Windows 10 event log entries like below.

For me, for example, the sequence below is not entirely comprehensible because at that point I was only using the IPplus, on exactly one thing, my WLAN. This was probably quite immediately (a few hours) after upgrading to the beta.

I can’t remember any problems, but I find the cluster quite unusual. So I’ll just call this a “data point” 😉
